ISLAMIC SEARCH ENGINE POWERED BY GOOGLE

Islamic Google is a search engine powered by Google which strives to provide an easy to use resource for anyone wanting to learn more about Islam and provides a safer way for Muslims to surf the web.

The website www.islamicgoogle. com is powered by Google using "safe search" technology. It tries to produce balanced results from all perspectives, using websites all over the internet, but with more weight given to Islamic websites and sites containing content relating to Islam and Muslims. At the same time this search engine eliminates sites and web pages containing adult
themed and explicit sexual content from web search results.

Life: A medical condition

Restless leg syndrome, social anxiety disorder, female sexual dysfunction, celebrity worship syndrome - it seems that a new illness is invented every week, covering every potential quirk in human behaviour.

Is the human condition becoming a medical condition?

Ten per cent of British children are regarded as having a clinically recognisable mental disorder, 34 million prescriptions for anti-depressants were written in the UK in 2007, while it is estimated that 10% of US children take Ritalin to combat behaviour problems.

Dr Tim Kendall, Joint Director of the National Collaboration Centre for Mental Health and a key government adviser is deeply concerned at what he sees as a medicalisation of a vast swathe of society.

Siege at Pakistan police academy

An armed group is holed up in a police academy in eastern Pakistan after attacking it with grenades and rifles.

Officials say at least 11 people have been killed and dozens injured at the academy, on the outskirts of Lahore.

Firing was continuing more than five hours after it began as troops laid siege to the academy. It is unclear how many people are trapped inside.

The attack comes less than a month after gunmen attacked the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore.

In that attack, six policemen were killed, while up to 14 gunmen escaped.

Does God have a role in the world today?

Does God have a role in the world today?

God will not intervene to prevent humanity from wreaking disastrous damage to the environment, the Archbishop of Canterbury has warned. What's your reaction to this?

Dr Rowan Williams has urged a "radical change of heart" to prevent runaway climate change. At York Minster he said humanity should turn away from the selfishness and greed that leads it to ignore its interdependence with the natural world.

He said just as God gave humans free will to do "immeasurable damage" to themselves as individuals it seemed "clear" they had the same "terrible freedom" as a human race. He also warned that God would not guarantee a "happy ending".

Don’t get radicalised, get politicised

The Luton protesters were angry men.

And I’m angry too - but in a different way.

Even now, looking back, it’s hard to believe I was that trusting of our politicians.

I really believed the news reports in the papers and on TV about Saddam Hussein’s Weapons of Mass Destruction. I took at face value the Ministry of Defence’s “sexed-up” intelligence dossier about scud missiles hitting British bases in Cyprus.

I felt British interests were under threat.

I decided to act.

In February 2003 I decided to reenlist in the Territorial Army.

Within months of the cessation of hostilities it became obvious that there were no scuds, no weapons of mass destruction, no nothing to be found in Iraq.

Then we had the Hutton enquiry, followed a few months later by the Butler report.

Germans announce: Revenge is inefficient

In development which should strike fear into the hearts of action-movie scriptwriters and BOFHs everywhere, remorselessly efficient German economists have calculated that revenge is inefficient.

According to the German national socio-economic database, vengeful people are more likely to be unemployed, have fewer friends and are less satisfied with their lives than those who occasionally let a bad turn go unpunished.
