Ticking Time Bombs
‘Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is not the company’s only smartphone prone to dangerous explosions, according to a new lawsuit that says a Galaxy S6 Active shot out flames 5in high and left one user with melted flesh.
It was revealed that the lithium ion battery was causing combustions.
More than 90 Samsung Note 7 phones have caused damage, and problems continued even after the company recalled and replaced some of the phones.
Kids and Television
Is having a TV in the house (with a child) around a good or bad thing? Is it better to have a TV around for their entertainment purposes, or no? Or is technology so advanced that a TV has become pointless?
FOR- Helps a kids development.
AGAINST- They spend less time interacting and socializing with each other and spend most of their time staring at a screen.
Thoughts.
Channel 4 to air daily Muslim call to prayer during Ramadan
Channel 4 is to air the Muslim call to prayer live every morning during the month of Ramadan.
The broadcaster said it was an act of "deliberate provocation" aimed at viewers who might associate Islam with extremism.
The headline-grabbing move will see Channel 4 broadcast the three-minute call to prayer at about 3am for 30 days from the start of Ramadan on 9 July.
In addition, on the first day of Ramadan Channel 4 will interrupt programming four times during the day – to mark subsequent calls to prayer – with a 20-second film to remind viewers of the approaching prayer time.
After that date, the channel will air the 3am call to prayer on live TV, with the other four prayer times will be broadcast on its website.
A bold step for science?
"..The technique itself will result in babies with DNA from three people - two women and a man - and this genetic alteration will be passed down the generations.
Once babies have been born using this technique, there will be no going back. A permanent and novel genetic change to members of the human race will have been made.
That might sound pretty worrying, and talk of three people's DNA mixed together seems a bit ghoulish at first glance. So is this science overstepping the mark?
There will be some who find this disturbing - tampering with nature. But for the families affected by mitochondrial disease it is a chance to have a healthy child, and to ensure that future generations are healthy too.."
The Big Questions
Have British Muslims done enough to counter extremism?

Did anyone watch this?
Peer pressure
''The social influence a peer group exerts on its individual members, as each member attempts to conform to the expectations of the group''
Examples; type of clothes you wear, how you dress, what you say/do, places to go.
Good or bad? Does it make or break an individual? Have you ever been in a similar situation, and how would you respond?
Operation Chalice
I'm not even going to quote what's said. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-shropshire-22379414
So I was watching the news, until THIS disgusting headline came up which just made me face-palm.
First the men accused in Rochdale, and now this followed by a man charged over attempted rape (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-22479441).
Handshakes
I know there have been previous topics about this already, like the one I read http://www.therevival.co.uk/forum/general/1312?page=3 BUT it still doesn't answer the question.
1. WHY is it unlawful?
2. What if you shake hands with the right intention without fear of 'temptation'?
3. If you do it cause you have 'no choice', is it still a sin? I don't mean the other person taking offence, but for the sake of remaining professional and having manners.
What would you take on Holiday?
Its all in the title.
