A couple of years ago there was a lot of hoohaa in the media about a conpiracy for Muslim extremists to take over schools, mostly in Birmingham. A lot of this hullabaloo was supported by the then Prime Minister David Cameron, his Education Minister Michael Gove and the OFSTED head Michael Wilshaw.

The hysteria reached such levels that a government enquiry was set up to investigate the infiltration.

The Muslim community in Birmingham was much demonised by this enquiry and many students and teachers tarnished by the media hysteria.

The Mccarthy'istc witchhunt where previous recognised excellent schools are being accused of supporting or not protecting from Islamic extremism continued long after the departure of crusader in chief Michael Gove (who mysteriously wrote a book about trojan horses in schools years before a fabricated letter brought the idea into the mainstream).

The latest victim? another Muslim academy? no. Public school with Muslim board of trstees accused of manipulating it? no. It is a Church of England (of christian fame) being accused in relation to Islamic extremism.

A new report by Ex-cop Peter Clarke was "leaked" into the media yesterday. The headlines stated that there was 'A coordinated agenda to impose hardline Sunni Islam'.

What the headlines don't say is that Peter Clarke says that "anti-US and anti-Israel" rhetoric is a sign of "extremism".

So next time a teacher wants to talk about justice and oppression, if you point out justice and oppression by Israel or the US, its a sign of extremism.

New leaks in the Guardian suggest that 6 schools in Birmingham will face censure, and two previously considered to be outstanding schools will be rated as "inadequate" - a rating that allowed the government to place the schools under special measures and force changes including replacing of school governors.

These schools were among 21 investigated as part of a "Trojan Horse" plot, where the leaks suggest that nothing has been found:

Ofsted's inspectors appear to have been unable to find much evidence of claims of homophobia or gender discrimination, which have been alleged by anonymous former teachers at some of the schools.

There is an article in the Guardian today about Park View academy in Birmingham where there are allegations of a "Muslim plot" to take over schools.

To me this story seems to be just another in the line of trying to muddy the waters about Muslims and to tarnish out collective reputations.

The real story? Park View Academy has managed to turn itself from a failing school where single digit figures were passing their GCSE's into a school which has become a beacon of achievement, where others want to emulate this success.
