Is it possible for muslims to criticise the West without the stigma of sympathizing with terrorists?
I noticed after the London bombing there were many muslims who made a point that they probably wouldn't have happened if Britain wasn't involved in Iraq, which of course is making a larger point about western policy in primarily muslim countries.
Wasn't recieved well by the public.
The same point by non-muslims was recieved much differently.
No. Even if the people do not but the link of sympathy, we will always have to fight it.
Some one will always accuse us of it.
On another forum, when that brazilian was shot, I dared to say it was wrong, and was accused of sympathising. And that guy was not even muslim.
I was not criticising a policy, but just an action, and it was brought up.
Its a fact of life, and we gotta live with it.
Just like if you criticise muslims, you will have to deal with being called Islamophobic.

You could similarly say that why are muslim youth only targeted for integration.
The young in all communities in this country are behaving badly.
If white non-muslim kids go around beating up girls and filming it on their mobile phones nobody says they aren't integrated.
But if muslim women cover themselves up this is supposedly a sign of non-integration.
Likewise if a white non-muslim man chooses to have "backward" views about women nobody says he isn't integrated. But if the same views exist among muslims then its a national crisis.

What you put in the hearts of others; is what goes back into your own heart…
if non Muslims can get away with critiszing the West
why cant Muslims?
Muslims arent the only ones who linked the Iraq war with the bombings
erm... that is exactly what Dave asked.
We should be able to (after we are also 'the west'), but we always have to answer many snide questions before we can.

Is this the case in general, if so why is it so?

What the hell is islamophobia anyway? I always kinda took it to be when there are acts of violence/vandalism against muslims.
Islamophobia is a neologism used to refer to an irrational fear or prejudice towards Muslims and the religion of Islam.

I've started a new thread on 'Islamophobia'...
Thanks Ed! - I'll take that discussion there.
