angel i think you are misunderstanding what i mean...
im not saying there should be a limit to praising our beloved prophet mohammed sallalahu alahi wasallam...
what im trying to get across is that some people over praise as in attribute those qualitys of ALLAH unto the prophet mohammed sallalahu alahi wasallam...
there was once a poet that said:
"You the prophet mohammed sallalahu alahi wasallam are both a mortal and an eternal entity at the same time and you existant involves an element of compusion"
and another poet observed:
"One must treat ALLAH with madness, whereas prophet mohammed sallalahu alahi wasallam must be treated with absolute seriousness and mental composure"
ED..no-one is putting on a limit

Just for E20.
The following Ahadith are in regards to sending durood and salam on the Holy Prophet (saw):
It is narrated by Hazrat Abu Hurraira (RA) that the Holy Prophet (SAW) said: “Whoever sends darud (salutation) on me once, Allah Almighty will send darud on him ten times.” And Tirmidhi has added the following words: “Allah Almighty will write ten virtues for him (when he reads darud).”
Muslim, as-Sahih
It is narrated by Hazrat Anas bin Malik (RA) that the Holy Prophet (SAW) said: “Whoever sends darud (salutation) once upon me, Allah Almighty showers him with ten blessings, forgive ten sins and increase his status by ten levels.”
Nasai, as-Sunan
It is narrated by Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (RA) that the Holy Prophet (SAW) said: “On the Day of Judgement the nearest to me from amongst the people will be the one who sends excessive darud upon me (in this world).”
Tirmidhi, as-Sunan
As you can see from the above Ahadith you can send salam and durood but an important point to note is that the Holy Prophet is not in need of our salam's and durood upon him rather its for our benefit so we can be rewarded for sending durood and salam hence our sins forgiven etc. The most beautiful thing is those who send the most durood will be the most closest to the Holy Prophet (saw).
If one doesn't send durood out of ignorance they are the ones at loss and are depriving themselves from getin closer to the Holy Prophet (saw).
1-God and Prophet (pbuh) share many of the same qualities
e.g both are merciful
but God's attributes are unlimted whilst Prophet (pbuh) qualities are limited
2-God is divine-Prophet (pbuh) is not
3-People made Jesus the son of God-this did not happen with Prophet (pbuh)
4-as well as shirk/bidda phobia people also have a praise phobia

For one thing you are taking the words of poets literally.
Also it is possible that what they meant to say is skewed in translation.
Could you name the poets? And provide us with the rest of the poem?

I agree, poets usually talk in a language of their own and translation can confuse a lot of things.
Poets name would be helpful and the reference from the book you took it from.

Admin:
totally agree with you. Holy Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam IS the Best of Creation.
Others:
Totally agree, even spending your whole lifetime just sending darud on Nabi Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam is not going to in ANYWAY fulfill the rights of Nabi salallahu alayhi wa sallam.
The Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam is the Leader of the Offspring of Sayyidina Aadam alayhis salaam, He salallahu alayhi wa sallam will be granted the maqaam of Mahmood, He salallahu alayhi wa sallam will be the first to intercede on the Day fo Judgment.
He salallahu alayhi wa sallam is our Master and we are His followers.
I think some people perhaps may have misunderstood what I meant.
BUT at same time Nabi SALALLAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAM cannot have the praise which belongs to ALLAH.
No1 can say in sajdah "subhaana rabiyyal a'ala wa Muhammad". This is overpraise.
No1 can give divine attributes to any creation, because rather than overpraiseing this becomes a swear on that creation. So those who bang the drum of ishq should beware that overpraising Nabi salallahu alayhi wa sallam is your swears on the Noble And Illustrious Personality.

med, NO ONE does the above, no one praises the prophet in salaah, in rukuh, sujood...that would be shirk!!!
what everyone else is saying can never be over done, or over praising... an dit can never raise the status of the prophet to same or equal to God...
I had not heard those examples before. (they still are not shirk though... as the translation is all praise is for our rabb, the greatest. And for the Prophet (saw)... not liked but not shirk...)
Do not pick on others.
I would expect atlead 'Edto be mature enough to only discuss arguments and not get personal.
But it seems I am wrong.

MashaALLAH admin.
those statements in salah are kufr of the clearest and worst kind.
Admin sometimes I worry about you. When such a clear cut statement of shirk is uttered in sajdah still you find some excuse to legitimise it.
That statement is kufr. The person who says it has become kafir. His nikah is broken and his wife haraam upon him.
I would have thought it haraam... but enlighten me.
(the statement separates god and the prophet... it does not say they are the same entity...)
Giving a sajdah to anything apart from god is haraam. If it is done to WORSHIP something else than god, ONLY THEN is it kufr.
Or am I wrong?
If so, proof?
(Its a very important issue. So I wanna know if I am wrong, and how...)

Maybe you could just direct us to the source of your information.
“Ahmad” literally means praise, and “Muhammad” means possessing many praiseworthy qualities.
Our Holy Prophet is called “Muhammad” due to the many praise worthy qualities which He, His religion and His nation possesses…. such that even Hadrat Musa (AS) wished that he would be from them.
Praise and glorification of the most Beloved Rasool of Allah (swt), is praise for the entire religion and the removal of it is the end of religion.
The Holy Prophet is the pivotal and focal point of faith (Iman) and it is impossible to succeed in deen (Islam) without giving him due respect and honour.
You're lucky I'm going to spare you the Paxman treatment.

Paxman has a nack of getting under the interviewees skin... there are a couple of famous interviews by him... and he will keep pressing, and make it uncomfortable.
Similar to what happened to AbdusSalaam Beharvi.

Salaam all. Err Med how can you consider? Prophet Muhammed Salallahu-Alayhay-Wa-Aalahy-Wasalaam as our master? Allah is our master, that is a title he has given himself, we can't hand it out to people, even our beloved prophet (pbuh). Allah is our master, end of story, Prophet Muhammed Salallahu-Alayhay-Wa-Aalahy-Wasalaam is our leader. It is our wajib duty to follow what he and our other prophets (peace be upon all of them) said but especially Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) because he is Allah's most beloved messenger, but that doesn't make him our master.
I think maybe you were trying to saw what I just did but maybe didn't do it as clearly.
Take care all,
Allah Hafiz.
What does master mean? It means leader which you just said that the Holy Prophet is our leader, he is our Prophet and the leader of the Muslim Ummah so whats wrong with callin him our master?
