Why is sci-fi godless?
Why is there never God in sci-fi?
There is one exception to this 'rule' of scifi, but apart from that everything always conforms.
So in scifi why is there no room for God?

no i cannot. It is to stop any possible spammers. we used to get some on the old forums.
Even I ahve to wait for it to let me post... But that is the price of not being annoyed by spammers
'Brothers I have found this amazing azaan watch. It gives azaan five times a day'... try deleting 300 of those manually.

Why is sci-fi godless?
I do not like gore flicks.
Because they always have a 'stupid' character. someone so unrealistically stupid that everyone is thrown into danger. Someone who runs off just aftre everyone has been told to stick together. Someone decides they need a toilet break etc...
Why is sci-fi godless?
Well i would have thought the reason why sci-fis dont hav God in them is bcoz they're 'Science Fiction' films. Emphasis on the made-up Science.
How basicly the improvements in sciences make man better... or improves mankind as a whole. By proving science as superior they try and get rid of the concept of God.
Not sure if anyone used to watch 'The Outter Limits' but they'd always hav an few episodes where it was Science Vs God... and in the end God would always win.
Why is sci-fi godless?
no dave not seen crash yet will do so pronto
Why is sci-fi godless?
lol cool.
Hey has anybody ever heard of scientology?
Now... i'm not really one for laughing at other people's beliefs, but when half of Hollywood (a freakshow to begin with) runs off to embrace "Lord Xenu" and cleanse themselves of alien "thetons" you are asking for it.
Science fiction meets religion.
lol if you are up for a good laugh read up on em some time

I remember watching some interview with Tom Cruise where he lashed out at some other actor for going through psychiatry and taking anti-stress drugs.
here it is.

The Kabbalah cult based in LA is also increasingly popular with celebraties as well.

Yeah, psychology is a psuedo-science.
But Scientology on the other hand - it's got 'science' in it's name!
Why is sci-fi godless?

The dune trilogy has arrived today.
I do not want to start reading it yet... because I remember why I stopped reading books.
I would not sleep. Just keep reading...
I am too busy to do that now!
Why is sci-fi godless?
Cool! Glad ya ordered it!
I think you will definitely like it - the allegories to islam and the middle east and oil are remarkably clever
and it's just a different take on sci-fi
kinda reminds me of an islamic star wars
imperial bickering and all that - except instead of the force there is this "prophet" and his final religion.
Why is sci-fi godless?
at the beginning of chapters what are these quotes?
Are they from real books? or in-universe books?
the quotes are from the 'manual of Muad'Dib'.
Why is sci-fi godless?
Muad'dib is the name of the prophet in the series (he's the mohammed analogy)
Why is sci-fi godless?
figured that out as soon as Iread te first caption... I think I should ask les questions.. and read more.
Why is sci-fi godless?
Wow now that I think about it the Children of Dune series was a really close analogy to Christianity.
lol Dune was so good it actually made me think more seriously about Islam.
Children of Dune was so good it actually made me reconsider

Has anybody seen Saving Private Ryan?
Just picked it up today - never seen it the whole way through.
Really a fantastic movie, almost identical to how my grandfather described Europe after the invasion.
The Soundtrack is excellent too

Why is sci-fi godless?
Ok, I have read 'Dune', and 'Dune Messiah'. I am now about half way through 'Children of Dune'.
They are well written, but I did not see too much of a link to the beginning of Islam in the first book.
I may have been put off the incorrect use of terminology (not jihad; others seemed to be wrongly used...)
However, in one of the two books, I was slightly put off/angered/surprised/delighted/other by the use of a verse if the Qur'an. I cannot remember what it was, but that was exactly how I had read its translation... (Or I may have translated it myself through my limited vocab a few years ago... and I have forgotten my vocab...)
Why is sci-fi godless?
lol well I hope you are enjoying them all the same - I guess the similarities I saw were to things from both the time and life of Muhammad and the first Caliphs - kind of a mix. He turns these Fremen from basically worthless sandpeople into part of a major religious movement and basically shifts the center of the Universe to Arrakis.
eh well...
Children of Dune is fantastic
Anybody seen the Rocketeer?!
I love that movie! Haven't seen it since I was really young but it was on TV the other day. lol boy the acting was cheesy but all the same it was fun and had an awesome theme song.
