Salaams all,
Today is a special day.
BBC2 will start showing one of the best series of tv ever made. Or the most pretentious.
Its slow and also a cop show, so if that is something that puts you off, totally ignore this post. (it will probably take a few episodes before you get into the show...)
Anyway, Episode 1 is on BBC 2 at 11.20pm. And then a new episode (almost) every night for the next three months.
Better than The Apprentice.
I remember watching all 5 series over a period of 4 weeks.
And what did you make of it?
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
I wouldn't have watched one episode after the other if I wasn't hooked.
I thought it was fantastic. Quite realistsic and there was no faffing about with OTT drama.
It was almost the West Wing of da hood, da police, da school, da city hall and da ports (ports? that was a bit out place).
(I probably still would)
It took a while to get into it in season 2 (as it did with all the other seasons too), but eventually it did come up good. Was a shame how the union got crushed - but I guess that is the way of the world.
Marlo in the later seasons was a little cold. Scary cold, but no idea if a real person could ever be like that - he may have been a little far fetched.
Quite a few good characters in there too.
