Charity in other religions

ok, on another forum I frequent, someone mentioned that there is a 10% charity in Judaism and christianity (catholicism I think).

I want to know more.

But in Christianity you give money to 'the Church', which explains why the Vatican is so nice looking.

In Islam you have to give money to people in need of it. There is a big difference.
