Ummayad Mosque has 4 head Imams, one for each sunni Madhab. Shaykh Saghargi Hafizullah is the Head Hanafi Imam.
I remember one of the Mua'zzin's of the mosque came on a tour with Shaykh Yaqoubi, to UK, his azaan and salawat recitation was absolutly amazing.
Why do most muslims not live in villages? only evertowns n cities..
It would be major cool if Muslims started living in villages, did there own farming, ate from their own crop, lived peaceful lives, without the city lights and screams.

I visited Bedford today as part of my work and....WOW!! that place is really rubbish !
Maybe it was just the bits I saw, but it was rally run-down and had no energy. The train also went through Luton, which is absolutely terrible, maybe even a bit worse.
Maybe I was spoilt by leaving from the brand-new St Pancras station which gives new meaning to the word 'blinging'. Seriously, why is there a need for a Hamley's store in a train station?!

i got off at bedford train station. then got a taxi to Kingsway, which was at one of the County Council buildings (which were pretty crummy inside too!) It was next to a 'Dreams' beds superstore.
It had a place nearby called Kids' World which looked really creepy...

lol they dont rub it. They mix hay into so that it becomes a bit harder coz otherwise the cow dung is really soft and doesnt stick together. You then roll it into a ball and roll it out and make a round circle and slap it onto the wall. The sun then comes and drys it. You then peel it off and use it to make a fire. It also makes good fertiliser for the crops.
I dont think they do it anymore coz gas cookers have finally come into existent.
just thought id drop in a different perspective on belonging and some other points brought up.Many bros and sisters i know have the question of belonging which comes from being second or third gen in this country, i however do not.
I was born in rural Gloucestershire and now live in Leicester, my family are English for as far back as anyone can figure and even tracing us we go back at least 1000 years on this island.
I am English, i am white and i am Muslim and i dont find any problem with that fusion, there are many wonderfull things about being British and living in this country and i like to think that i am able to balance these things.I am tremendously proud of my british culture but i will stand up and say when things are going wrong.
There is nothing british about binge drinking, the sexual promiscuity and crime in this country, though they are now becoming characteristic and this is very unfortunate.
If you think of the archetypal Brit pre war they were polite, well dressed, honourable, honest to a fault, respectfull of others and others belonging, loyal, restrained, devout and family oriented...sound like any brothers or sisters you know?...in my opinion, , being a good muslim makes you a fine example of the best of what it means to be British.
The religious freedoms in this country are what allowed me to stand up and say my shahadah without being burned at the stake , but i cant help feel that in many ways this country has lost its (to quote Gordon Brrown, of all people) "moral Compass"...if you ask me as long as our moral compass is a qibla finder it will be Islam and Muslims who help bring this country back to its true roots.
For me home is where my heart is, and whether that is walking in the Malverns, the streets of a city or in the Masjid that is home.
