I was inspired to teach by my own experience at school, particularly by my primary school teacher. She was passionate about teaching and as a result her students were enthusiastic learners.

My degree in Education and Community studies has given me a solid foundation for the career that I wish to pursue. My degree has provided me with an insight into how individuals are educated, influenced, informed and trained. This theoretical knowledge was put in to practice when I taught in schools as a trainee teacher.

I am the Sub-Editor of a National Youth Magazine called ‘The Revival’. My role includes carrying out research into the issues that affect youth, writing, proof reading articles, working with a team and being responsible for the distribution of magazines in London. Current issues that affect the youth is a subject that I feel passionate about.

I find teaching fun and incredibly rewarding; this is why I seek the opportunity to teach whenever I can. For the past fours years, I have led two Religious Study classes on a weekly basis. I have found that empathy and tolerance of children is something that comes naturally to me. The primary aged children that I teach regularly write up essays and carry out presentations in groups in front of the rest of the children, based on the information that I convey to them. This has increased their confidence and their English writing skills.

For the past four summers I have worked as a teacher, teaching English, maths, science and Islamic studies in a Cultural Centre, for bilingual children. I found that being bilingual myself, I was able to relate and cater to the specific needs of bilingual children and their parents. I helped manage the school, and organised a successful end of Summer School parents’ day program where children demonstrated to an audience of parents what they learnt over the summer. I also organized a school trip to the British National Museum and regularly led whole school assembly.

(EDIT) is designed to meet the requirements of local primary schools for teachers who are skilled in educating children in the multicultural, multilingual urban environment of east London. This is because equal opportunities, working with bilingual learners and children with special educational needs underpin all programme sessions

For one year I worked part time as a teacher’s assistant with (EDIT) agency. They sent me to various primary schools all across East London, as well as private nurseries and secondary schools. I have also worked very closely with children with various physical and learning disabilities, which has given me an insight into some of the issues that surround Special Education Needs.

I am well suited in meeting the needs of the children in (EDIT) as I have worked in various schools in that borough, and am currently at a eight week teaching placement in a school in (EDIT). My degree, work experience and teaching placements have proved to be worthwhile experiences and have confirmed my desire to teach. Watching children learn and progress is incredibly rewarding. I have also found that in many instances teachers are also the learners, as students can often teach them invaluable lessons.

I believe I would succeed as a teacher because of the enthusiasm, dedication and passion that I possess for teaching.

This is prob not relevent for whatever it is that you wish to do - best way to do this is google statements online.
