Salaams
This poem discusses the issue of things people say who when they dont want to receive dawah and discuss about Islam.
Keep your religion to yourself
That's what the Secularists say
Just fast and pray
And let everyone else do as they please
It's none of your business
All this fitna and sin
Focus on yourself
Self perfection
And accountability
Allah is the one who guides
not you
So why bother
Are we not Muslims?
Who pray and fast in Ramadhan too
Evil
What are you talking about?
Are you perfect?
Or just like us
So please don't make a fuss
Dawah
Only for the prophets and pious
Sinless and spotless
Besides you're not qualified
And used to be bad like us too
So why don't you come and join us
And dance the night away
We're not asking you to apostacise
Just chill and have some fun
Then run to jummah
And repent
like we do
Oh!
Are we giving dawah
Calling to sin and wickedness
Surely not
We're just saying
Praying is for later
Now is for living
Allah is merciful
Allah is kind
You show no mercy as you condemn
And upset
As you play on our conscience
And make us feel guilty and ashamed
So leave us
Allah will guide us
So much temptation
And desirable people
You only live once
So we have to enjoy as much as possible
We'll turn religious
And face the Qibla
When we hit fifty
And no longer shifty
On the dance floor
We also realise and acknowledge
that the angel of death
Can come anytime
That's why
We live in fear
And keep Islamic talismans close by
And find comfort in like minded buddies
With whom
We gamble with our precious souls
Every time we engage in haram
Please make it easier to read.
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
:?:
i can even read that without my specs, well only if i concentrate.
or maybe not.
I can probably read it from across the room... but then there is the issue of scrolling the page...

but u wud have to scroll anyway :?
heh. it has been sorted out - my keyboard and mouse are next to the PC - easier to be sitting at the PC than across the room.

i don't mind it when people preach to me, but the approach they use sometimes ticks me of.
preaches either bring people back to the deen or boot them further out.
when i was a non-Muslim, one thing CERTAIN to put me off Islam would be people constantly banging on about it. it can sound rude, judgemental, arrogant and boring.
much better dawa is being nice to people, doing more than is expected for you, ll done with a smile.
IF someone asks you why you are doing something, only THEN say its because you are a Muslim, or because of Islam.
Don't just do something! Stand there.
Best preaching is to practice yourself.
oh and do NOT go on and on about Illuminati and all those other conspiracy theories.

i love talking about the illuminati :L
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...
I've got a friend who's a non-Muslim and I gave her a copy of the revival magazine, she later asked me do you think that everyone is against you. So I attempted to answer her question, after a minute or so I could tell she was finding it boring, clue - she was trying to change the subject.
I always try and bring religion to whatever debate/argument I'm having. In class yesterday we were having a discussion about punishment of offenders. I proved to be controversial when I mentioned harsher punishment, re-introduction of the death penalty. As Muslims part of our belief is to believe in Sharia law right?
do u first write in word and the paste into the box?
Who, me?
ya
You are wrong.
The first revelation was not "Read in the name of thy lord. And chop off the hands of thieves and decapitate murderers."
There were steps and everything was done when it was needed. When they arrived in madinah, first thing was to create a community, make everyone a brothers, not deal with murderers.
Look at how Alcohol was banned. There were three steps:
1. Alcohol is disliked.
2. Do not approach prayer if you are drunk.
3. Alcohol is not allowed.
The sahabahs were the best of us Muslims. If the ruling went straight to step three I have no doubt they would have still complied. but still a path was set.
You cannot just enforce punishment without any reasoning, any social programs etc.
The punishments are the final step - the absolute limit of what you are allowed to do, not the first step.
When there was Famine in Madinah, the Shariah punishments were suspended by Hadhrat Umar (ra), the second khalifah of Islam - A person who was known to be very harsh in following the letter of the law.
We have not been given a brain just to exercise our neck muscles, but to think.
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
Calm down, I wasn't saying that I wanted to introduce Sharia law here in the UK, I was just saying isn't it a part of our belief.
Sheesh, some people.
Btw I don't paste from word, why do you say that?
paste from word? do you mean that other topic? there you have put a piece of text in quotation marks. As if you are quoting something authoritative. I just wanted to know from where.
I can be harsh sometimes in my responses, but at times it is best to not beat about the bush. Always know your audience.
Nothing wrong in working to implement "Shariah" But Shariah is not a written set of laws. It is the implementation of what is in the Qur'an and Sunnah. It is as much a process as a set of laws. Some parts are personal and people will implement or not in their own lives. Others will not. Some parts are communal which need to be implemented or not as part of a legal system.
If you proposed that serial killers and paedophiles where there is no about their conviction should be considered for capital punishment, you will have a less people against that. On the other hand if you propose death for all people convicted of murder... there are cases that are not all clear cut.
Like when asked whether you feel targeted, the simple answer is "yes/No/Maybe". Let them ask specific questions. Good that you realised that she was getting bored though. Some may not do that either.
