Ok people I really need your views on this issue....
I was sitting in the tube today when a bunch of "muslim brothers" came and sat in the same carriage as me. I thought to myself......ok it will be a nice and quiet journey home....But i was wrong!......The next thing I heard was really FILTHY swearing. I looked up to see what exactly was going on. To my Horror I heard the "muslim Brothers" swearing in their own language at each other. These men seemed to be really good mates and were getting along just fine, but what surprised me was that they were swearing at each other and one of them even swore at the others mother!!!!
To be honest I was really shocked. A little upset as well. I mean what does one do when they see muslims acting like this in Public????? As a muslim sister obviously i can't approach them and start preaching to them about how to respect mothers!!!! The swear words they used are just unexplainable.....and filthy!!!
So people...what does one do? From an islamic view point do we go around and teach these so called muslims a lesson? Is it acceptable to hear such filthy language in public? And as muslims how do we present ourselves?
This is normal, well the swearing bit it is not the swearing at mothers bit.
Whenever anyone use to start swearing on the bus or in school and if i was there i would shout at them and tell them to shut up or give them a lil lecture regardless if they were boys. But i don't think i would do that on a normal bus, i only told them off cz i kindof new them. If i was on the bus and someone started swearing i would either give them a dirty look or say out loudly a comment directed at them but not to them directly, loud enough to make sure they here.
some ppl are not educated or articulated enuff to express what they are feeling using words
hence the swear words
kids have this prob too
my sister tells me that when kids get angry and start swearing or fighting in school
she makes them write an essay at breakdown to verbally express what they are feeling and why - using a theasuras
apprently many swear cos they dont know alternative words
Just recite a part of the Quran loudly and see what they do.
I garuntee it will shut them up.

True. I heard a kid swearing the other day about what he did to other kids mother. Phew I thought that what he has just said is probably one of the worst things a person could say to another and if only he would take a step back and realise what he saying and how a person like me would react to that!
The kids were about 15-17. Not kids but kids nonetheless.
He who sacrifices his conscience to ambition, burns a picture to obtain the ashes!
hahahaha
i agree i get real annoyed when i see such behaiviour, but as Muslimsislilsis said, they know no better.
The important thing for me atleast, and how i was trained since a child to never swear, was the way my mother made me realise that we use the same tounge to pray with and make dhikr with and say Allahs name with, so why at the same time should we let filth escape from it.
Its easy not to swear, and just replace words. Some folk swear when they are suprised, one can just replace it with 'subhannallah', or if when angry with ' aoothobillah'. i know it sounds weird, but really it helps not only in this life, but will inshallh help us in the hereafter!!!
