Secular Vs Religious Society

It would seem to be a given that Muslims would prefer to live in a wholly Islamic society.

Is this the case? What are your views in living in a secular society? What is your ideal society?

I would be extremely interested in your views.

This topic is irrelevant if you intend to argue the point that Muslims are not for secular society.

Of course Muslims would like to live in a Islamic society, Jews in a Jewish Society, the BNP in a all white society….etc

A better topic would be:
What kind of society would you like to live in?

Your intentions seem to be misguided.

An intelligent man doesn't pre-judge, he also should read the OP in more detail. I asked "What is your ideal society" - this is more or less equivelant to "What kind of society would you like to live in".

The point of the post is to determine if there are advantages in secularism which are available to you but denied to others.

The topic is very relevant.

In answer to mmm's comment, as one Jew, I prefer to live in a secular society.

speak for your self!

Most Muslims prefer to live in a secular society.

An ideal society IMHO is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-faith society living side by side each other. I would like people to be well integrated, instead of killing others we should be willing to die for one another.

I want to live in a society where persecution of Others, cheating in Trade & Monopolizing is the exception and not the norm.

However to keep it interesting we need the odd nut case like Nick Griffin  But people like Bakri and Hamza is going way too far!

I want people to be secular but not too materialistic (if that makes any sense).

I don't think we are actually capable of living under a 'fully Islamic society'.

Even the basics of the Islamic state (brotherhood) were established 13 or so years of preaching at the time of the Prophet (saw).

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

People have different ideas about what a secular society is. To some it's an irreligious atheist society. To others it's a society which does not discriminate on the basis of religious belief and respects all religions equally.

I think the latter definition is what I see it as and as such I don't mind this model. The irreligious athiest model of society is what I have a problem with.

Having said that, I believe an Islamic society based strictly on Quranic and Prophetic values is the ideal society. Whether such a society exists, or is even viable on earth, is another matter.
