Yes! Sum pple will pay anyfin just 2 c Qaid like myself apart 4rm my permission problem.

But it wuld b betta if it isnt too expensive nxt year 4 the sake of others...as muslims we meant 2 look out 4 other bros n sis that cant afford 2 pay a lot...so id request the organizers 2 plz think dis time as i no sum sisters dat didnt go were in tears.

i will share my views on a future camp... im sure most of you will disagree but thats me..

1. 3 days is more than enough...any more makes it difficult for people to attend, esp. those that work

2. the camp this year was expensive, if you increase the price then it puts ppl off, plus some ppl cant afford it, especially when u have more than 1 person in a family....i know many who didnt attend cos of the cost

3. you dont need a spectacular venue...if the camp is mainly to gain knowledge and listen to the lectures of the shaykh. if the camp includes many sports and creative activities then a bigger better venue is needed

4. the camp should have shorter but more talks of the shaykh, also more workshops, discussion sessions, training sessions on dawah techniques, media, misconceptions and even some events like islamic quizzes, islamic who wants to be a millionaire, etc..

5. topics of the shaykh should be on more relevent topics like misconceptions of islam, identity, youth issues, challenges facing muslims in uk etc

6. should be several Q & A sessions

7. should have several tests or short exams at the end of the camp to see what we have learnt

8. more media should be invited to the camp for coverage and a must should be a press conference with the shaykh at the camp

9. if the camp is for MQ supporters only, then ideology and methodology of the organisation should be taught in several sessions, so you can create daee's who understand the viewpoint and mission of the organisation

10. text should be provided before the camp which includes the subjects that will be covered..and a list of further reading should be a must

11, at every camp youth projects for the year should be set up, so ppl go away for the year and have tasks and work of dawah to do ...

pls share your views

more days is better IMO. should try to accomodate people who ar bisting for the day only as well somehow. it was expensive true, but its for a good cause, how many people spend needlessly on other unimportant stuff? obviously not everyone's circumstances are the same and the oragnisors should take that in2 consideration. the venue certainly does help, personally makes u feel better. my bro's complained about the glasgow camp accomodation...broken windows!

not 2 short talks, but not 2 long either. try getting more talks but less time per talk or breaks in between. but then again, it does depend on the Shaykh's availability.

i agree more workshops and active stuff rather than slide shows and listening to sum folks go on and on, not that they were bad but theres only so much listening and no participation you can do.

nothing wrong with the relavancy of issues. im sure the Shaykh knows much better than us what topics are vital.

tests? next ur gona say courseworks and detentions......

no media is better, 2 much hype and advertising takes away from the spirituality and serenic atmosphere.

there was text provided and we were given oragnised folders form which we were supposed 2 go on from the camp and learn more and add 2 our files. obviously, even that can be impoved somehow.

ED.....u were only there for the last day (1/2 day). had you been there all the time im sure your views would be slightly, just slightly, diffrent Smile

Salaam,
I went 2 the camp n i definately thought it shuda been for 4 days coz it felt as tho by the tym we got in2 it, it woz ova olredy!! n about the venue, it shud b in a place similar 2 the 1 it woz in, its mor ov a pleasant atmosphere than that compared 2 last yrs camp in glasgow- which was in a school. i doubt ppl who r realy in2 religion wil mind payin a little mor coz @ the end ov the day its worth it n its not lyk we dnt spend money here n ther!!

lol cuz pioneer centre compared to glasgow's venue was luxury lol! thats wat hapins when its last min!

salaamz ppl

i sincerely pray for those of you who need to persuade your families to let u go to camps such as these because IMO every1 should be going!

Alhamdulillah im one of those lucky ppl whos whole family is minhajian so permission is not even an issue...all the family goes! Biggrin

i agree that the camp should last longer....a week atleast IMO!!! :!:

i agree with most of Eds points...we should be involved more actively while at the camp...more workshops where we get 2 discuss relevant issues etc. to an extent i think that there should be some media coverage aswell because that way Minhaj-ul-Quran will get more awareness within the wider Muslim community+thats a good thing!!

the price was rather high+it does cause some problems esp when members of the same family are all attending but Insha'Allah that shouldnt be 2 much of problem for those who are committed 2 the mission because anything is worth seeing our beloved Qaid! Biggrin
but the cost can out off any potential members...ppl who want to learn more about MUQ but cant afford to attend the camps...so maybe thats an issue that can be looked into.

personally for me i dont mind what the venue is like...i was more than happy with the Glasgow camp Biggrin Biggrin because its not about the luxurious surriundings...its about the spirituality+the blessings we receive from our beloved Qaid...nothing else seems important!

A friend of mine picked up an Al-Hidayah folder for me from the camp...its a great folder with intresting information in it...

But obvioulsy mine is clean and not scribbled over cos I wasnt there.

If anyone took any notes during the lectures of Qibla and have them typed up I'd really appreciate it if you could email them to me.

Thanks.

Asalamualaikum!

Insh'Allah the notes wuld b posted soon on the Minhaj ul Qur'an International msn group but if any1 wants the Glasgow programme notes of dis year they r already on there.

Jazak'Allah khair

Wow! That sounded like one hell of a camp!

Now was the girl that converted the new girl on the forum AnisahLondon?

And is Asiya_a our Asiyah?

Amazing how much can happen in a month. Glad you all got to see Qadri though, this forum has always had a special place in it's heart for him.

(Hey Ed... ever thought of asking him to do an article or have a "Q&A time" on the forum? - he seems highly approachable)

asiyah-a and aasiyah are two different people.

Aasiyah seems to only come on late.

lol she used to work late into the night for school and would be on at times I considered "too late" (and thats with the 5 hour difference)

Speaking of late you are on at a pretty ungodly hour aren't you?

I am like the owl.

Bed time soon.

Asalamualaikum!

I think its a great idea Smile n u should take it forward.

Even though Qibla Muhtram is a busy person, havin an article written by him would b the greatest thing to read.

Jazak'Allah khair

"Duniya toh badalti rehti hai...Ey mere Quaid tuh kabhi Na badal janaa"

it would be very hard IMO, very busy schedule and he travels a lot. even tho im a big fan, not a lot of people are. it might not be in the best interests of the growth of the magazine.......unfortunately, not everyone likes the IMQ.

I'd agree that Qibla Muhtram travels a lot n dat nt many pple like IMQ but our job its 2 keep goin no matter wat.

It doesent mean becoz sum pple dnt like the organization we r gnna stop.Through dis organization n thru Qibla Muhtram's hard work we all hav a chance of uniting the ummah of the holy prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) n also we hav the chance of strenghtening our Iman (faith).

Getting Qibla Muhtram 2 write n article its gnna b hard but its worth a try. At the end of the day we r all muslims n which ever organization we r wid we r still the same as long as we r wid the rite one.

I agree with you 100%.....but the revival isnt actually part of the IMQ, altho quite a lot of the team are.

i wouldnt be against including him, but at the moment it could work against gaining popularity for the moment. plus, its unrealistic i would think to get him to do an Q&A every issue. he features in the monthly minhaj mags anyway, cant remember the name of em!
