Islamic Circles Presents:

ARABIC LANGUAGE EMBEDDED WITH TAJWEED CLASSES FOR SISTERS

14 week intensive course taught by Sister Thahera (Habiba Institute)

Start Date: Sunday 8th January 2005
Time: Sundays, 9.00 am - 11.00 am
Venue: Froud Centre, 1 Toronto Avenue, off Romford Road, Manor Park,
London, E12 5JF

Tajweed is an act of reciting the Qur'an in accordance with the
established rules of pronunciation, intonations, velarisation,
chanting and transposition. Thus reciting the noble Qur'an in
the correct manner means to recite it with Tajweed. Allah (swt)
says in the Noble Qur'an, "And recite the Qur'an with Tarteel
(in a slow, pleasant tone and style)" (73:4). Prophet Muhammad
Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) has said, "Indeed Allah desires that the Qur'an be recited
in the manner it was revealed."

When asked about the meaning of Tarteel, Ali (ra) replied, 'It means
that the Qur'an should be recited with Tajweed and with due observance
to the rules of Waqf (pausing or stopping at the end of the verse).'

‘It is compulsory upon every responsible Muslim to try and study
the Arabic Language’ Imam Shafi (Ar-Risalah)

Learning to recite and understand the Qur'an correctly, and in
the way in which it was revealed is an ambition for all Muslims.
Habiba Arabic and Tajweed modules are designed with that purpose
in mind. The Arabic modules would enable the students to speak,
read, write and understand the Arabic language. This should
enable students to have a good understanding of the Qur’an and
Islamic texts. Upon completion of all Tajweed modules, students
should be able to recite the Qur'an with Tajweed rules and have
memorised the last Juz, plus Surahs Waqi'ah, Mulk and Yasin.

* Sister Thahera is qualified with a Bachelor of Education (BEd)
