People who are modest despite their huge amount of knowledge and other gains.

People who don't care about worldly pleasures and keep remembering Allah.

"Purity is half of faith.......Prayer is the light...patience is illumination; and the Quran is an argument for or against you. Everyone starts his day and is a vendor of his soul, either freeing it or bringing about its ruin." Muslim

You do realise that worldly pleasures are also from Allah (swt)?

No need to avoid everything.

The worldly pleasures are our test. They separate us from our Lord.

A Sufi never cares about these things.

I admire the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) who said, amongst other things:

"Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well, and that if they do wrong you will do wrong. Rather, accustom yourselves to do good if people do good, and not to do wrong if they do evil."

(Tirmidhi)

A good hadith to tell to all the Muslims who condone or excuse acts of terror because 'its a response to British Foreign Policy'.

I admire the only holy prophet (pbuh)

I admire all the members of the Ahl al-Bayt (ra) the blessed companions (ra).

I admire my shayke, shayke-ul-Islam.

A rose protects its beauty with thorns..a woman protects hers with a veil

Who do I admire most in this era?

It is obvious...

Shaykh ul Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri the Magnificent.

I admire my Polish friend more than anyone I know.

He comes from a very small town far from the main cities in Poland. In his mid-twenties he got disillusioned with Catholicism and he started to read up on all the main Religions, never considering Islam because Poland has EXTREME Islamaphobia (much worse than in Britain). When he still hadn't found satisfactory answers, he eventually read the Qur'an, and almost immedeatly he converted to Islam, even though he'd never even met another Muslim and his nearest mosque was over 100 miles away. His parents were absolutley horrorfied and gave him the choice: 'you are either our son or you are a Muslim, you can't be both.' So he left everything behind to come to live in London, so that he could practice Islam more easily.

He could only get work in low-paid, manual labour, even though he has an engineering degree, but has always put-up with it in the most patient way, constantly smiling and saying 'Alhamdulillah' at every occasion. He kept trying to get back in contact with his parents, showing them that he loved them and did not want to lose touch with them. They eventually accepted him back (although NOT with open arms) and on visiting home he's had to put up with the town's scorn and enmity.

A few months ago he had a serious accident at work (due to his manager's incompetence) and the result is he has lost the use of his left arm for the remainder of his life. So now he can't work in the manual labour jobs he used to, and can't support himself financially here, even though his work SHOULD pay him substantial compensation. all the while he has remained the same cheerful, calm individual I have always known. He realises this is all from Allah (swt), and the more that Allah (swt) loves someone, the more He tests them.

If I had a FRACTION of the patience and perseverence he has, I would be a much better person than I am; May Allah (swt) reward his efforts and make things easy for him.
Ameen.
