Introducing TSMY

Assalam alaikum,

I have just joined the forum, so that I can update people on TSMY events.

About TSMY

The Sunni Muslim Youth is an organisation focused on catering for the social, educational and spiritual needs of the youth.

Based in oldham, we provide access to an Islamic library and multimedia room, which are managed by local young muslims.

In addition to weekly study circles, we also organise regular events, where we invite some of the most respected scholars to deliver talks in English.

Very nice website with a large range of articles!

I particularly like the pictures section.

jazakAllah!

Don't just do something! Stand there.

It enjoyed your recommending Restaurants on your website. No one else ever does that on an Islamic website.

Ayatollah rightly named America as "Great Satan".

Hey! I didn't get to see the gremlins and space monkeys!

I think the websites really good, but it's not half as good as The Revival's website. Biggrin

Just a question...who are you trying to compete with, huh?

Could you not have set up what you have working with The Revival?

The more the merrier I say.

No point being monopolistic. If we can do anythign together, then good.

Completely agree.

I think it's a real shame that you've set up your own thing. I think that's really sad. Why is it we Muslims can't work together? That is what our ummah needs, not another competing website.

I would like to sincerely point out that it's not a competing website, rather I would like to think of it as a complimentary website. TSMY's work complements the work of other organisations and websites.

We are an organisation that is working with the youth on the ground, the website is really online brochure of our work and services, and an avenue for us to sell our wares (i.e. advertise our events and activities).

As for setting up our own thing, TSMY is not a new phenomenon. Alhamdulillah, TSMY was founded in 2001 and has been continually providing services to the youth ever since with great success. The website was set up 12 months ago. Have a look at the 'about us' page on the website, for more information.

We are always open to working with other organisations, as you can see on the partners page and the recommendations page.

At the end of the day we are all working towards the same objective, which is to spread the message of Islam.

Its all cool
I know all the brothers very well from TSMY
we get on well, do help each other out...
there is no competition...we work with many groups...
our work is slightly different, method is slightly different.... but both aim is to get young Muslims in to Islam.
TSMY is working locally, emphasis on the mosque, library, doctrine etc.... where as The Revival is working nationally, focusing on the magazine, exhibition stalls, website....and have no restrictions when it comes to groups/sects etc....as everyone is welcome.

May Allah (swt) reward everyone working sincerely for the Deen.
