The furthest relation anyone is to anyone (as long as both are living) is thought to be 16th cousins removed.

Yes, that means YOU (or anyone else alive) could be the 11th cousin of Obama, the 9th cousin to George W Bush and 13 Cousin to the queen.

It is not all that spectacular - first of all, we are all the children of Prophet Adam (as) and secondly, people are not kept in total seclusion from each other, so even if there were disparaet people, through the occasional marriage over a period of time, there would be familial bonds between the people.
