Continuing on from You's blog, 'So what if Miss USA is a Muslim?' which I do not understand at all, my blog copies and pastes information about Khadijah, the first wife of the Prophet because I think she's the real role model.
Many girls/woman work and study to become independent despite what other people may think. They want a career and 'marriage/having a family' is something they leave for later in life. Not everyone is like this but this sort of thinking is becoming more popular as far as I can see in the UK. There is nothing wrong with it - however when it comes to the age where all the worldy success has been achieved to the maximum (i.e getting the correct career, being rich etc), I have friends who then look to settling down and then really struggle with this aspect. In my opinion, it is not healthy to have kids above the age of 35- but that is my opinion (from looking at kids with elder parents) and everyone is entitled to think what they want to think.
Now, Khadijah married at the age of 40. She was an independent woman and has also been described as beautiful. Yes?
She used to feed and clothe the poor, assist her relatives financially, and provide for the marriage of those of her kin who could not otherwise have had the means to marry.
Her renown for business dealings caused many highly respected Arabian men to seek her hand in marriage. However, by 585, Khadijah remained unmarried
And then she married Prophet Muhammed and earned many titles relating to her personality and what she achieved in life.
So...what can you gather from this?
1) It is good to be independent and a woman.
2) But at the same time, don't forget that there is a life.
3) Help others and enhance your personality through this.
4) Don't become arrogant.
5) And remember your religion.
And insha'allah things will work out.
Agreed?

I thought she had been married before - or is my mind making that up?
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
Yeah, I thought she had been divorced once too :S
But wikipedia said that.
They do say...don't trust wikipedia...
Yep, she was married twice before and had children from those marriages. Sorry for not highlighting this. But this just adds to how much she went through as well.
yeah but noone really likes an indpendent woman who can look after herself
theyre a threat to a lot of Muslim men out there who want them to be docile and subserviant without an opinion of their own
