Yeah, dont worry about that "amina.com" thats just some watermark from a chechen Social network. - They dont own the pic. Its user owned.

The place is not "relatively peaceful".

Everyday our Muslim brothers get kidnapped by Kadyrov's men. Kadyrov is a lackey of Russia.

There are thousands of young men who run and hide in the forests in Chechnya. They are those who have had their brothers, fathers murdered or sister's raped by the Russian Army or those allied to them.

Chechnya has had a fight for freedom, for Islam, for many years.

- However, its not as straight forward as people assume. There are various factions and peace is something that is needed..

Unfortunately, there is no pressure on the current Chechen regime to change their human rights record.

It is compared to before. I hear Ingushettia is where the troubles are located now - next door to chechnya.

And much of the resistance did die down after the distarous school siege in Beslan which helped to:

  1. Destroy much of the legitimacy of the resistance to many foreigners and locals.
  2. Showed the fighters that the Russians on this occasion were unrelenting - and that they were not in the mood to cave in like they had done years earlier.
