Question
Are Muslims allowed to go to the pub even if they do not drink, especially if it is work related?
Answer
By Shaykh Salim Ghisa
No. In Islam places which are allocated for the use of Haram activities are forbidden to enter even if it is not for consuming the Haram. The reason for this is that these are places which gain the wrath and the curse of Allah and also as a Muslim one must ensure that their outwardly actions do not lead others to doubt them, therefore going in to Pubs, Clubs, Casinos, dance bars etc could make a person who sees this individual think that they are going in for the wrong reasons.
Allah's Messenger (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) cursed ten people in connection with alcohol:
"...the one who distils it, the one for whom it has been distilled, the one who drinks it, the one who transports it, the one to whom it has been brought, the one who serves it, the one who sells it, the one who utilizes money from it, the one who buys it and the one who buys it for someone else." (Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it).

Ok I understand this and accept this answer what is the difference to a big muslim owned and managed restaurant serving halal food and alcohol.
As a muslim is it ok to enter many of the big Pakistani/muslim restaurants that serve alcohol.
Their primary purpose is not to serve alcohol, so there is a major difference.
Saying that, I would generally rather give my money to someone who avoids selling haraam food full stop over someone who is compromising - the restaurant sticking to its principles should be applauded and rewarded with my custom. Unless it isn't all that good, in which case quality matters.

Colleague: So today we go out, you coming with us yeah?
Me: I've got coursework to do so I can't.
Colleague: Come on, its only once a week. You can still finish your coursework off.
Me: I'm quite behind so I need to catch up.
Colleague: Don't worry about it, I know that you can't drink but you can still have some orange juice with us.
Me: Erm....
Colleague: Ok then, see you later.
Me: *sneaks home when no-one is looking*
true. i hate sneaking around...even more so when you're sneaking away from Muslim friends.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Why make an excuse to avoid going with them?
A plain straight forward "no" seems to be easier.

all the mulims i know get drunk and have sex with many women. they are like anyone else...... SINNERS. They do they same as any aother human does. Do not be fooled thinking they are holy...they are not. Just like most people in the world claim they are something they are only what they are. IF THEY ARE OFF TARGET and even slightly off target like any christian or anyone from any religion then they are living in sin WHICH MOST PEOPLE ARE IN THE WORLD. ISLAM IS A RELIGION LIKE CATHOLIC is a religion. Being a Christian is being true faith. If your off target then your not a christian. Religion will not save your sole. Only living a life through Jesus will save you.

What if you have a mocktail in a pub is alcohol free i like mocktails ;-; i dont think if your not going to drink in a pub is better than drinking in a pub i go to lots of places that serve beer and cocktails with my family but we dont drink and we are muslims!!!!
Being in such environments is not encouraged even if you do not drink.
Further, serving alcohol is not considered to be harmless and is covered by the main answer as it covers “one who transports it".

You shouldn't be going to pubs or being in the environment of drinking to be honest. There are far better places and things you can be doing rather than going to pubs such as going to halal cafes and restaurants etc
