glad it wasn't al shabaab
cant imagine what would hae happened to somalia of they got power over the country

Al Shabaab did not take part in that election thingy.

If the outside powers had not interfered, the same person would have been in charge and there would have been no Al Shabaab at all, which currently is a major power.
