My visit to Twycross Zoo

Originally i had planned to go to a friends wedding, but my plans for the day, ended up being a fail.

Instead we decided to go to Twycross Zoo! The trip itself was an amazing day out as a family, and i was surprised by the amount of people who visit the zoo even when it's not extremely sunny. It was a little rainy, but when your enjoying yourself, you don't really take much notice of it. So the most obvious thing to do when you visit a zoo, is to look around at the animals. I saw many, from the lazy tortoises to the sick-looking camels, and the brightly coloued flamingo's to the very playful monkeys.

At around 2.00, we joined the crowd watching the elephants! I had to move my eyes away from the time when the elephants opened their back legs and did their stuff. The poor keepers had to use a big fork to pick it up and place it into a wheelbarrow! Yucky stuff, but i later forgot about that! The elephants stood in a line, similar to 'follow the leader', they rolled over, so that their keepers could check their bodies for any bruises or marks. They did a little curtsey by placing one of their front feet forward, it was amazing! These elephants were very talented, in my opinion. They continued to surprise me by shaking their heads in disagreement and giving a salute, elephant style!

But there was one thing that just had to upset my day. I saw a Muslim female wearing an Abaya. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing one, even if its at the zoo. But she had no care for the amount of dirt and soil that had been attached to it. It was literally dragging on the floor, covered in brown stuff and i am clueless of what half of it must've contained. I just think, that it was totally wrong, one, for the Abaya to flair out so much, two, for being soo long, and three, for her, not even bothering to lift it up or tuck it in! I'm sure she must've realised that the pathways were muddy, with many puddles. In my opinion, i just thought Ya Allah, what am i supposed to do or think! As a Muslim i couldn't stand and i couldn't help but think about what the Non-Muslims must've thought about, in terms of hygiene and cleanliness. I just hope and pray that i never see anything of this kind in my life!

And after all that, i went on a free train ride and bought some honeycomb ice cream, it was delicious! Then we went to the Twycross Zoo shop to take home some souvenirs. That was my interesting day and i would recommend it to any of you who have some free time to visit the outdoor world! But there isn't a 'wide' range of animals! Have any of you visited the zoo recently? How was your experience?

PS, If you have any sisters, brothers, neices, nephews or children who havn't turned 16 yet, you can take part in activities on Blue Peter, and gain a badge and card which allows them to have a free entrance to many UK attractions!

Do you say it being flairy is an issue just because it's easily dirtied or for some other reason?

"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi

If its flairy to avoid it clinging to your body and for modesty, I guess its fine. But this sort of flairy was the sort that drags on the floor and gets easily dirtied, thats why it was an issue!
