Exam Factories

Almost all children now believe they go to school to pass exams. The idea that they may be there for an education is irrelevant. Leading companies are struggling to recruit teenagers with basic skills because schools have been turned into “exam factories”, business leaders have warned. Many employers had been left “disheartened and downright frustrated” by poor levels of literacy, numeracy, communication and timekeeping among school leavers and graduates. Overemphasis on sitting exams and hitting targets throughout compulsory education had robbed children of the chance to develop the “soft” skills needed in the work place.

Academies bill will enable a radical overhaul of England's schools, giving every school the chance to convert to an academy and giving parents the right to create free schools outside the control of LAs.The new schools will drive up standards and the education would be in accordance with the needs and demands of the parents. It will help native Brits, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities to set up their own schools for the education of their children. It is nothing to do with integration or segregation. Segregation already exists in British schoolings, it is not going to widen. President Obama supports free schools in America because they have benefitted the least well off the most. Educating children is the priority.

Dispatches on Channel 4: Muslim Schooling

The documentary annoys me. The comments written have annoyed me more, you've watched an hour long documentary and you think you've got Islam and Muslims figured out? You don't know the half of it to be honest; a few people can’t represent a religion. I'd love to see a documentary on a churches, temples, gurdwaras or synagogues. I'm sure there are bad aspects of all these places but really doubt that they would make it on air. Don’t just judge on something you know so little about. The documentary although proving sight full is causing more grief then good.

Muslim community is shocked at the honourable British prime minister's speech in Munich about multi-culturalism. The messages from the EDL in Luton and from Munich were the same. we still don't understand which 'British values' Mr. Cameron was talking about. This man is an idiot! The only core values that the British leaders have are hypocrisy and bigotry. Looking at their not-so-distant past, they looted the world, occupied lands, never gave freedom to people, never even taught them democracy, never had any elections held in the occupied countries and gave no one any freedom of speech in the occupied countries.

Sexual Grooming and Pakistani Youths

Jack Straw, the justice secretary in the former British government, sparked controversy when he accused young men of Pakistani origin in Britain as regarding vulnerable native girls as "easy meat" for sexual abuse. The Blackburn MP and one of the Labor Party’s most prominent figures challenged the Pakistani community in the United Kingdom to tackle a problem that has resulted in "Pakistani heritage men thinking it is OK to target native girls in this way".

Mr. Straw made his remarks after two Asian men were jailed indefinitely in Nottingham for a series of rapes and sexual attacks on vulnerable girls they had picked up on the streets.
