42 days dentention law!

So what do ppl make of the new law where a suspect could be held without charge from 28 days to 42 days - six weeks - that was passed in the Commons last week!

heres more info on this:

do the police really need 6 weeks to suss out if you are a terrorist?

is this the end of human rights and civil liberties?

is this an indirect atatck on Muslims?

should we be concerned about the ne wlegislation?

or should we back it as its best to be wrong than terrorist succeeding even if it means some of our civil liberties have to be compromised?

You should be alert during the next days:

Do not open any message with an attached file called 'Invitation' regardless of who sent it, It is a virus that opens an Olympic Torch which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer.

This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list, that is why you should send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

For those of you who have read current, recent or earlier/past issues then you shud be familiar with Ali & Jamal- a regular in The Revival magazine.

So what do ppl make of it?
Anyone read it?

Is it getting old and out of touch or is it still as appealing as before?

How can it be improved?

Do we have any Ali or Jamals out there :-)?

Any motivated writers who can take Ali & Jamal to the next level?

sexual abuse- a taboo in muslim community?

This is, especially child abuse, a topic we are writing on in a future issue of The Revival Magazine.

Its an issue which unfortunately is not openly discussed in mosques/ radio discussions/homes etc....

it skind of brushed under the carpet. Its like a massive taboo.

It needs to be raised. It needs to be addressed at all levels/platforms/ people of power and responsibility.

The victims shouldnt feel shame. they have been abused by sick people.

im sure this is an issue that exist across the UK in muslim communities.

does anyone else know of victims or am i over reacting?

is anyone aware of any help /advice/counselling available?

whose job should it be to raise this issue? are we all responsible to protect our young ones from this abuse?

Geer Wilders Anti-Qur’an Film

An anti Quran 15 min film is due to be released next month by an Islamaphobic politician in Holland.

Already it has caused alot of reactions from Muslims throughout the world- God knows what reaction we will see when it finally is released.

Wilders wants to ban the Quran and calls it a fascist book.
