Now if I mentioned the words ‘politics’ and ‘voting' what would be your reaction: “Politics! what a waste of time? All politicians are dodgy? Aren't all parties the same? Politics is dull and boring! Politicians and parties are all against Islam and the Muslims? I ain’t got time for politics!â€
If you think the Quran is just about nice stories, do’s and don'ts, history lessons and how to live your life then you’re in for one heck of a shock!
Did you know that there are hundreds of scientific statements in the Quran which have only been discovered by scientists in the 20th century but the Quran has mentioned them over 1400 years ago.
This clearly proves that the Quran is definitely not the work of any human being but has come from none other than God Almighty.

There was a man born over 1400 years ago. A great man. A special man. A man who changed the world. A man who conquered the world. A man recognised as the most influential person in history.
A man who brought a message, a religion, a faith, a code of life and a system of life. A man who brought about the greatest revolution ever.
Today that religion and system of life has over 1.6 billion followers world-wide. This man is Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)- Messenger of God.
Next time you sit on a plane, look at the clock, go to the opticians or do some maths remember it is Muslims who invented and discovered these.

I know its a wee bit late, but i have a wicked excuse... believe me. check it out... your beloved editor was struck down with Tuber-Culosis (TB). So I was totally knocked out for a few months... and if that wasn't bad enough a few of our staff came down with a nasty bug. Altogether now, say aaah!

So, is Islam a faith of peace or does it in fact promote violence and hatred? I mean, we read in textbooks and hear on Friday sermons that Islam is a religion of peace but then we see Muslim individuals and groups who promote violence, terrorism and carry out suicide bombing all in the name of Islam.
You're probably confused innit... thinking what the heck is goin on? You see we have Mr. Ladin who wants to kill all Americans, has declared a holy war against the West and was thrilled about the attacks on the twin towers.
So, the 60 million dollar question is that if Islam teaches peace and is absolutely against violence and terrorism then why the heck do these individuals and organisations carry out these violent acts in the name of Islam? Is it in the name of Jihad?
You're probably thinking isn't fighting; violence and killing people all part of jihad.
Well, that's the trap that must people fall into. You see Jihad means 'struggle to the utmost' and one of the forms of jihad is to take up arms against oppressive and evil regimes that arc victimising innocent people.
