How To Perform The Eid Prayer

The nights of both Eids, i.e. the nights preceding the Days of Eid, are auspicious occasions which should be observed with reverence and worship.

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) said that these nights are great occasions of Ibadat and of gaining the proximity and special Mercy of Allah Ta'ala. These holy nights, should therefore not be allowed to pass by in idleness.

Full advantage should be taken of these opportunities by offering obedience and Ibadat unto Allah Ta'ala to the best of our abilities. Istighfaar (seeking forgiveness for sins), Tilaawat (reciting the Quran), Nafl Salaah, Durood, etc. should be profusely offered on these holy nights.

Importance Of Tarawih

Tarawih prayer is Sunnah Mu'akkadah for men and women since the blessed Messenger Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said:

'The month in which Allah has prescribed for you fasting and I have initiated for you the night prayer.Whoever fasts in it and prays with sincerity and faith, sins leave him clean and the day his mother gave birth to him'. (Ibn Maja)

The Tarawih with congregation is more virtuous since `Umar (r) established it with the congregation and the congregational prayer is a communal Sunnah. If no one prayed it in the Mosque all the people have sinned and missed the Sunnah.

Praying at Night in Ramadan (Taraweeh) & the importance of The Night of Power

Ahadith from Sahih Al- Bukhari, The Book of The Prayer Of Taravih, Chapter of The benefits of standing in Ramadan:

Volume 3, Book 32, Number 226:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

I heard Allah's Apostle saying regarding Ramadan, "Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."

App Recommendation - Salaah: Muslim Prayer

I've just come across this app today - available on Android and also iOS devices (iPhone, iPad etc) too.

It is a pretty simple app with a pretty simple goal: A step by step guide to prayer and its precursors.

Prayer is something where many can feel embarrassed to ask questions as they think they should already know everything, so having an app that covers the basics is a very useful thing.

This app covers all the basics wudu, ghusl, prayer, funeral funeral (something that can be performed so occasionaly that you need to brush up every time before any funeral you attend), eid prayers and salaatul tasbih.

Ummul Mu'mineen Hadhrat Aisha Siddeeqa and the Duha Prayer.

Let's get this topic started.

Narrated 'Aisha:

Allah's Apostle used to give up a good deed, although he loved to do it, for fear that people might act on it and it might be made compulsory for them. The Prophet never prayed the Duha prayer, but I offer it.

Not the one I was looking for, but its a start.
