Rich White-folk tell uncivilised coloured folk to return abducted girls. #BringBackOurGirls

Because, you know, the rest of the world didnt know abducting school girls was wrong.

For those not following along, in Nigeria, a group of morons called Boko Haram, who in the past have campaigned against things like teaching children about the water cycle, considering it shirk, have abducted a few hundred school girls who they are using as slaves and worse.

(their "justification"/excuse for their moronic acts? for the past two years the government has been arresting their wives and daughters for links to them and they have been publicly threatening this as retaliation since unless the government stops.)

It was an especially nice touch when the ambassador for humanity, Anjelina Jolie stood up to confirm that these abductions were a bad thing. Just in case anyone was still in doubt.

And now the U.

How about she return the children her husband and his government has taken?

Michelle Obama's hypocritical message really got to me!

I didn't know Jolie had said anything about it, but I think other celebs have had their say on e.g. twitter anyway. In a way I don't think it's bad when a celeb speaks up about things because it creates publicity. Would we prefer they remained silent and didn't show they cared? Perhaps the way they speak is important. I dunno. But anyway, I don't see how all this 'speaking up' and the #bringbackourgirls campaign is really having an effect on the actual situation because nothing seems to be *actually done*.

I don't actually mind Jolie speaking up and publicising it - she does that for loads of relevant issues.

The issue here is that there isnt anyone who doesnt think its not wrong, so when people feel the need to step up onto a platform to "educate" everyone on it being wrong, it says more about how they see themselves relative to the rest of humanity than about the victims or even the perpetrators.
