Over exaggeration

We are all guilty at some point in time of having over exaggerated. What is it that makes us do it and do we realise the enormities that sometimes we utter?

Take for example the case of Ulama. People are very quick to exaggerate in the supposed miracles performed by their shaykh or about the level of piety of their peer.

Some go so far as to utter complete polytheism in what they think is praise of their shaykh.

The shaykh may spend his entire life in service of deen, calling people to tawheed and the sunnah, but after his passing away his followers or the public in general begin to make up ludicrous claims in honour of their shaykh.

Eg.

There is one big ALLAH Wali. It has been claimed that on the occasion of Mi'raj when Hadrat Jibreel alayhis salaam stopped at his appointed place and explained that He would not be able to proceed and would get burnt if He proceeded beyond this; some claim that this ALLAH Wali was present and Holy Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam placed His Mubarak Foot on the shoulder/back of the Wali and they proceeded further.

What is the remedy to this malady?

Salam

Didn't you vow not to post on this forum again ?

Not that I want you to go. You are most welcome to stay and post whatever views you have.

I was just wondering whether you remember your own claims.

Omrow

Yes I remember.

Thats why I said we are all guilty, including myself, of overexaggerating.

Thank you for pointing that out Umar.

Ya ALLAH Madad.

Not everyone here is an idiot like you.

We have some real men on this forum.

I wonder what you will teach your children:

How to do a shameless u-turn: Mark of a hypocrite.

Do you also remember that your Mullah Umar did a u-turn. The idiot ran away during a battle.

yep...they dont realise they getting involved in shirk..or they do but choose to remain ignorent,

i've come across someone who in addition to over praising make other absurd and baseless statements an all.

i wonder...

i exaggerate too much ..espec when i want a favour from someone or want someone to feel sorry for me.

part of the remedy is for us not to mock them. Don't speak down to them. In our bid to rid them of their errors don't become arrogant. We all have our faults. A lot of ppl are following their forefathers concept of religion. You can't expect to alter a lifetimes worth of conditioning over night.

Also we have to accept we can't always change ppl, sometimes you do your bit, and have to leave things be. Only Allah can guide ppl, make them see their errors.
