Hermaphrodites

Im intrigued as to what made u ask this question...

"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah, do hearts find rest"

Somebody saying how they aren't mentioned probably cuz people wouldn't have known about them then or they would've been killed.

If they were killed then I would expect some sort of mention about them - their rights etc.

"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi

so, their existence is a new phenomena?

Nope.

No idea if they are mentioned, but they are dealt with in early Islamic history and law and corrective surgery for them is necessary to push them one way or the other (its never 50/50 but 90/10, 70/30 etc.)

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

so...are you expecting that they WOULD be mentioned? did i get that right?

yes, but if Islamic law covers it then same thing. (But that would have to be from the Qur'an and sunnah anyway, no?) Basically I expect Islam to mention something about them.

Can they not be addressed under the topic of diseases?

These days alot of the not so popular or the 0.01% of weird and wonderful types of humans are coming to light and Muslims have absolutely NO support for them in their communities which is why many people question the authenticity of Holy Literature as it doesn't cover EVERYTHING unless we're suppose to use our initiative?

I assume they have always been there and there is dealings with them, precedent on how the rulings apply.
