Mu’awiyah ibn Abu Sufyan (Radiyallahu 'anh) relates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) say: "It is the day of ‘Ashura. Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) has not made fasting obligatory for you. But I am fasting. He who likes to observe fast among you should do so, and he who likes not to observe it (does not have to) observe it." [Sahih Muslim]
Abu Qatada (Radiyallahu 'anh) relates that the Holy Nabi (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) said that the fast on the 10th of Muharram atones for the sins of the preceding year. [Sahih Muslim]
Abu Huraira (Radiyallahu 'anh) reports that the Holy Nabi (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) said that after Ramadan, the fasts of Muharram have the greatest excellence. [Sahih Muslim]
Alhamdulillah, Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) has blessed us to see another year. The first month of this year is Muharram. In this month is an excellent day—the day of ‘Ashura—which falls on the 10th of Muharram. The Holy Nabi (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) recommended that we fast on this day, by his Sunnah. He also indicated how we should observe the fast of ‘Ashura.
Hakam ibn Al-Arat (Radiyallahu 'anh) relates: I went to Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu 'anh)… I said to him: Tell me about fasting on ‘Ashura. He said, "When you seen the new moon of Muharram count the (days) and (begin to) observe fast on the 9th." I said to him: "Is it how the Holy Messenger of Allah (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) observed the fast?" He said, "Yes." [Sahih Muslim]
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu 'anh) relates that when the Holy Nabi (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) said: "If I survive till next year, I will definitely observe fast on the 9th of Muharram (as well)." [Sahih Muslim]
(Note: What the Holy Nabi (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) meant was that he would also fast on the 9th as well as the 10th to which he was accustomed. We also should try fasting on the 9th and the 10th of Muharram.)
The Historical Significance of ‘Ashura
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu 'anh) reports that the Holy Nabi (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) arrived in Madinah and found the Jews observing fast on the day of ‘Ashura… They said: "It is the day of great (significance) when Allah delivered Hazrat Musa ('Alaihis-Salaam) and his people and drowned Pharoah and his people, and Sayyidina Musa ('Alaihis-Salaam) observed fast out of gratitude. And we also observe it." The Holy Messenger of Allah (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) responded: "We have more right, and we have closer connection with Sayyidina Musa ('Alaihis-Salaam) than you have"; so Allah’s Messenger (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) observed fast (on the day of ‘Ashura) and gave us orders to observe it. [Sahih Bukhari and Muslim]
‘Ashura is a day of great historical significance. On this day: Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) accepted the repentance of Sayyidina Adam ('Alaihis-Salaam) after his exile from Paradise; Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) saved Sayyidina Nuh ('Alaihis-Salaam) and his companions in the ark; Allah extinguished the fire in which Sayyidina Ibrahim ('Alaihis-Salaam) was thrown by Nimrod; And Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) spoke directly to Sayyidina Musa ('Alaihis-Salaam) and gave him the Commandments. On this same 10th of Muharram, Sayyidina Ayyub ('Alaihis-Salaam) was restored to health (from leprosy); Sayyidina Yusuf ('Alaihis-Salaam) was reunited with his father Ya’qub ('Alaihis-Salaam); Sayyidina Yunus ('Alaihis-Salaam) was taken out from the belly of the fish; and the sea was divided as the nation of israel was delivered from captivity and Pharoah’s army was destroyed. ‘Ashura is also the day when the kingdom of Sulaiman ('Alaihis-Salaam) was restored; Sayyidina Isa ('Alaihis-Salaam) was raised to Jannah; and Sayyidina al- Imam Husayn (Radiyallahu 'anh) (the Holy Nabi’s, Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim, grandson) achieved the honor of Martyrdom.
Worship Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) as much as you can on ‘Ashura. Whoever fasts on this day is like one who fasts all his life. Whoever clothes a naked person Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) will release him from a painful punishment. He who visits a sick person, Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) will grant him a reward that will not be decreased. Whoever places his hand on an orphan’s head, or feeds a hungry person or gives water to a thirsty man, Allah will feed him a feast from Paradise and will quench his thirst with Salsabil (a wine that does not intoxicate). And who ever takes a Ghusl on this day will enjoy excellent health and freedom from sickness and indolence. Whoever provides generously for his family on this day, Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) will be generous to him throughout this year. And whoever applies Kuhl to his eyes will never suffer from eye-sore again, Insha’Allah al-Aziz
O’ Allah! Bless us to perform good deeds and gain their reward on ‘Ashura. Make the new year one of unity, cooperation and success for Muslims in this city and around the world. Ameen.
So are you recognising it suddenly, or are you not?
Long quotes from other sites etc dont make you intelligent.
You said that there were no such things.
Then I showed you there were. then you decided to quote from an article saying that there was.
I dont see what you're trying to prove there.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
is ramadan a celebration? last i checked no it isnt ashura is no different it is not a day of celebration last i checked read the bukhari hadith on ashura to get a better understanding its their above
Maybe you mourn through it, but most Muslims are happy about it arriving. There is rejoicing through it.
I dont know how you can use "Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah" when you reject the very principles of it.
Do you know what the ahlus sunnah wal jama'ah is and how it got its name?
We are the people of tradition. that is how we got our name as the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'ah.
The Prophet taught the Sahabahs who taught the Tabi'een who taught the Tab'a Tabieen who taught their students and so forth. That is at the heart of it all. You reject that and pretend to still be of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'ah. Makes no sense.
As for who I am, you can guess all you like.

use your brain man, eid is a celebration, ramadan is not celebration, its the month of fasting, a month of worship, is salah a celebration? no its a act of worship just like that ramadan is a month of fasting, fasting is a act of worship not celebration, i think you should learn the difference between celebration and worship, ramadan is not celebration a month where muslims fast and fasting is not a celebration its a act of worship, even nonmuslims understand this and you the illeterate sufis dont.
you the ahlul bidah dont teach me what ahlus sunnah wal jama-ah is, it means the people of the sunnah or as some say the family of sunnah, go back to the teachings of isla, the quran and sunnah, the story of the imam, imam shafi used to say sufi are a corrupt group, imam abu hanifa RH debated sufis, imam malik rejected many of sufi act and its written in his book, and ssame with imam hanbal, all great scholars of past refuted their beliefs and proved them wrong, why do you think like muslims vs chrsitian debates sufsi always lose? because your beliefs are wrong theirfore you get exposed, it contradicts the quran and sunnah, the salafs the tabieen and the tabi tabieen and the greeat schoalrs of the past and today.
Are you calling yourself ahlussunnahwaljama'ah and then calling ramadan not a celebration?
Muslims celebrate the arrival of Ramadan and can be sad at its departure.
This is because of the blessings of the month.
"you the ahlul bid'ah" is a laugh. Remind me again who rejects the historical scholars? Remind me again who only goes back a few centuries for historical tradition and rejects everything for like a millenium beforehand?
The ahlussunnah wal jama'ah works on tradition. The Prophet taught the sahabahs who taught their students whot aught their students. you reject a millenium of them and then support new ideas that were not fitting with all the scholarly tradition and have the foolishness to call others ahlul bid'ah?
What a joke.
Are you aware that the prophet fasted on mondays because that was the day he was born?
EDIT - ahlussunnahwaljama'ah, did you try Turkey this year? Xmas gives us an opportunity to sample this halaal dish.

listen mate your scholars are illeterate and ignorant so youll be far worse then them, theirs a difference between worship and celebration, you celebrate salah? do you celebrate zakah? like salah zakah ramadan is a month, a month were we fast, fasting is not a celebration like salah zakah a act of worhip, not celebration, eid is celebration, a day to enjoy, ramadan is a month of worship to to do hard work, not celebrate, go back and research the hadith on ramadan where does muhammad SAW say celebrate ramadan like eid, you see your knowledge on islam is so bad you dont even know the difference between celebration and worship.
and ahlus sunnah wal jammah listen your ignorant, you dont even know the meaning of it, it is reffering to the people of the sunnah the whole sunni muslims, every muslim is of ahlus sunnah wal jammah, thats all it means not jibbersih you and your deviant people think, just referring to the people of the sunnah, theirs ahlul bidah which you and sufis are, ahlul shia the people of shia, and then theirs ahlus sunnah wal jjama'ah, the sunni muslims including sufis who havent commited shirk their.fore arent kafirs
and you are a joke, sufi is a joke, your scholrs are joke, you are not even jokes the correct words is cowards the dogs and pigs of the west.
and no i didnt try turkey i was busy doing dua for my brothers and sisters in palestine fighting your american allies, and inshallah victory will come, and when it comes as usual sufi and shia will go back to their planning stage.
and if your gonna go with teachings why is it no acts of yours are never supported by quran or sunnah? it always contradicts like the shias do, because your sufism is a joke like shia, infact the word itself means cotton meaningless like you sufis are. your acts are a joke not part of isla but what ever joke you call it.
which acts do you consider not supported by qur'an or sunnah?
I want to know what imaginary acts you think the people do.
and I like how you decide to bunch everyone else together in order to make them look deviant. sufi, shia, american, zionist. Nice combo. You forgot qadiyani this time. But there is no truth in it.
you are calling scholars a joke without presenting evidence. I am sure you are aware of the hadith that states that scholars are like stars? Why do you go against hadith? Is that part of your new ways too?
and hey, if you cant enjoy worship, that is your problem. I am just telling you what it is - people celebrate Ramadan. Go to any Muslim country in Ramadan and say it is not so. It does not have to be a "sufi" place, go anywhere where there are Muslims and you will see celebration.
Now I know you like to make it you against the world as that makes you feel the fire of righteousness, but you have to consider if that fire is not righteousness but something else. the scent of the influence of satan maybe?

read the ibn arabi thread and the sufi bidah one it lists every innovation and shirk acts of sufi, or rather majority of them then youll know which ones.
im not presenting evidence, you cant even provide evidence for your beliefs and your challenging me in providing evidence fine i'll do that right now:
starting with the sufi beliefs well the threads contain refutes tothe main sufi/barelvi aqeeda, did you forget about the hadith which muhammad SAW says do not follow a scholar blindly, and the one where muhammad SAW says about innovation and shirk, when a scholar starts doing this he not worthy of teaching anyone as he will be teaching people falsehood not islam, and hey learnislam learn the difference between celebration and worship man, you are trying teach me islam and you dont even know the difference between the 2? is salah celebration? no it isnt its a worship in ramadan we fast a act of worship not celebration, we see how the poor feels, sicne when is seeing how the poor feels celebration? does a poor man celebrate that his poor, and as muhamamd SAW sai ramadan is the month of ibadah, the month of quran, the month to increase ibadah not celebrate learn the difference.
now to your false and deviant scholars:
1) Barelwees disagree with Dr Tahirul Qadri (see below)
2) Deobandees disagree with Dr Tahirul Qadri
3) Salafees disagree with Dr Tahirul Qadri
4) Ahl-e-Hadeeth disagree with Dr Tahirul Qadri
The only person whom I know has praised Dr Tahirul-Qadri is General Parvaiz Musharraf!
P.S: The words of the article below is not mine it is of the Barelwee scholars!
Certain "half-baked" individuals and "intellectual pygmies," dressed up in the garb of "Molvis", have claimed that there are no valid accusations against Tahirul Qadri. They are saying that Sunnis have no proofs against Tahirul Qadri's beliefs. They are saying that the Ulema of the Ahle Sunnah Wa Jamaah are causing open fitna. Ma' azallah! We want you, the Sunnis, to now use your common sense and judge for yourselves the beliefs of Tahirul Qadri. We have translated Urdu extracts from books written by Tahirul Qadri himself, and some of his corrupt anti-Sunni beliefs. We have commented only on a few of his beliefs, but a more in-depth explanation will follow in the next chapter. Here are his shocking revelations:-
BELIEF ONE
"With all praise to Allah, all the Islamic schools of thought in the issues of beliefs do not possess any differences on basic fundamental beliefs, However, in minor subsidiary matters this difference is only as far as minor details, whose types and kinds are explanatory and detailed. It is due to this, that in missionary affairs to leave the areas of fundamental beliefs and solely become immersed in subsidiary and minor details, and on the basis of this, to make other schools of thought one's target of criticism is not fairness and wisdom". Reference : Firqah Parasti Ka Khaatimah Qu Kar Mumkin Heh, page 65.
What Tahirul Qadri is trying to say is that as far as the beliefs of the different groups (firqas) are concerned, they are only based on "subsidiary and minor details"! When Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has said that it is these very same groups that will enter Jahannam, Tahirul Qadri says that to pick on the beliefs and teachings of Shias, Deobandis, Khaarajites and other groups is "not fairness and wisdom". When Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has already passed a decision on these groups, do we need a misguided "professor" to tell us that these are small matters! May Allah save us from Tahirul Qadri's fitnah.
BELIEF TWO
"When the Creator of the Universe did not give the Prophet the authority that he appoint anything according to his wishes in the affairs of religion...". Reference: Firqah Parasti Ka Khaatimah Qu Kar Mumkin Heh, page 86
Does this "professor" realise the implication of his statement? As far as Tahirul Qadri is concerned, he says that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has no authority over any matter. What greater disrespect towards the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) than this! This belief is akin to that of the Wahabi/Deobandi/Tablighi belief as stated in "Taqwiyatul Jmaan", page 41 by Molvi Ismail Dehlwi, wherein he says that "Whosoever's name is Muhammad or Ahmed has no authority over anything".
BELIEF THREE
"I do not only like performing Salaah behind the Wahabis and Shias but whenever I get the opportunity I perform Salaah behind them". Reference : Risaalah Deed Shoneed, Lahore, 19 April 1986, page 4
Immediately after this interview, which was recorded in the above magazine, Tahirul Qadri claimed to the Sunni Ulema of Hyderbad that he had never made this statement. The editor of the magazine has the cassette of this interview. Attempts are being made to obtain this cassette.
BELIEF FOUR
"I curse sectarianism. I do not belong to any sect. I am a representative of the Prophet's community". Reference: Risaalah Deed Shoneed, Lahore, 19 April 1986, page 4
In a video recording interview taped in Durban (South Africa), Tahirul Qadri, very emotionally, told his unsuspecting audience that he is a Sunni Hanafi. Yet, he holds a firm belief that he does not have an excessive devotion and adherence to any particular group. This "professor" has already cursed himself!
BELIEF FIVE
"In Salaah, to fold one's hand or to leave one's hand is not amongst the Wajibaadats of Islam. The important thing is Qiyaam. In the (position) of standing l am following (whoever the Imaam is). If the Imaam makes Qiyaam, Sajdah, Qadah or Salaam then the Muqtadi should do the same. At this point, it is not necessary that the Imaam leaves his hand, and the Muqtadi folds his hands and performs the Salaah or leaves his hand". Reference: Nawaa-e-Waqt Magazine, 19 December 1986.
BELIEF SIX
"I am not working for the loftiness of Hanafiyat or for the school of the Ahle Sunnat". Reference : Nawaa-e-Waqt Magazine, 19 December 1986, page 4.
If Tahirul Qadri is not working for the school of the Ahle Sunnah, then what is he really working for? The Ahle Sunnah Wa Jammah is the only right group that have been promised Jannah. Tahirul Qadri is not working towards Jannah, need we say towards which place he is heading for!
BELIEF SEVEN
"If a person claims that a certain person who has read the Kalimah is a Munafiq and Kaafir, if this is not similar to sitting on the Throne of Allah and His Prophet, then what is?" Reference: Firqah Parasti Ka Khaatimah Qu Kar Mumkin Heh, page 72
BELIEF EIGHT
"Allah and His Rasool did not issue any school of thought a permit to Jannah. If any person is involved in this conceit, that because he is involved in a certain school of thought and is entitled to Jannat, then this is his vain thoughts and his personal fraud". Reference: Firqah Parasti Ka Khaatimah Qu Kar Mumkin Heh, page 54
BELIEF NINE
"There should be such a religious institute which is above the constraining teachings of schools of thought so that a student of any school of thought may gain advantage from lessons in this free environment". Reference: Firqah Parasti Ka Khaatimah Qu Kar Mumkin Heh, page 91
BELIEF TEN
"The clear victims among the worshippers of school of thought have been those people whose education and training have been (confined) to a special school of thought. After they become armed with religious education and they walk in the field of a life of action, then they make their own beliefs and thoughts and the propagation of this as their objectives". Reference: Firqah Parasti Ka Khaatimah Qu Kar Mumkin Heh, page 108
BELIEF ELEVEN
"Bareillvi'at, Deobandi'at, Ahle Hadithi'at, Shia'at, and these titles (makes me) fearful". Reference: Firqah Parasti Ka Khaatimah Qu Kar Mumkin Heh, page 111
Tahirul Qadri cannot say that the book, "Firqah Parasti Ka Khaatimah Qu Kar Mumkin Heh" is not his work and not published under the banner of his organisation, "Minhaajul Quran". We have ample proof to show that this is his own writings!
Sunnis must bear in mind that Shaitaan has always used religious frauds to put forward arguments, which are totally contrary to the Holy Quran and Sunnah. Tahirul Qadri wants Sunnis and all other groups to compromise or come to a settlement. We must remember that Shaitaan uses people to present arguments based on misconstrued (distorted) compromise. We should realise that this "total compromise" is nothing but the evil whisperings of Shaitaan. Almighty Allah has stated in the Holy Quran that "Shaitaan is an open enemy to you". An appeal is made to innocent Sunnis not to he deceived by this compromise. We should bear in mind that this message of "total compromise" preached by Tahirul Qadri is even against the teachings of I'jma (Consensus). It should, therefore, be the priorities of Sunnis to refer to the learned Ulema of the Anle Sunnah Wa Jamaah if they are in doubt about Tahirul Qadri.
O Muslims! Bear in mind that when a thief intends stealing from a house he first throws a stone. If there is no reaction from the occupants of the house, then the thief takes full advantage of the situation. This self-styled "thinker" and "scholar of Islam", Tahirul Qadri's, first stone on the house of Islam was on the issue of DIYAT or compensation for Blood-Money. Tahirul Qadri presented points totally contrary to the Ijma-e-Ummah (Consensus of the Ummah) on this issue.
But, Al'hamdulillah, we wish to state that the occupants of the House of Islam were not sleeping. The foremost among the Ulema-e-Ahle-Sunnah who refuted this "professor's" corrupt teachings were, amongst others:-
1. Allama Mohammed Abdullali Qadri Ashrafi Barakaati who wrote "Awrat Ki Diy at". This book contains enough proof exposing the ignorance of Tahirul Qadri.
2. Hazrat Allama Ata Mohammed Saheb Bindiyaalwi.
3. Ghazali-e-Zamaa, Allama Sayed Ahmed Saeed Kazmi (radi Allahu anhu)
4. Allama Moulana Abu Dawood Mohammed Sadeck. He has written the book entitled "Khatreh Ki Ghanti" in which the true beliefs of the Taahiriyah group has been clearly exposed.
5. Allama Mufti Mehboob Raza Khan who wrote "Fitnah Taaiiriyah Ki Haqiqat".
6. Allama Mufti Ghulam Sarwar Al Qaadri who has written two in-depth volumes entitled "Professor Ka I' imi Wa Tahqeeqih Jaa' izah".
Many other books have also been written by the Ulema-e-Ahle Sunnah exposing Tahirul Qadri's corrupt beliefs and teachings.
We humbly supplicate in the Darbar of Almighty Allah that He reward these distinguished Ulema for having revealed this new and corrupt group.
i believe thats enough evidence on this deviant, ibn arabi evidence is their and what other scholars do you follow nazim haqqani, name them.
fire is not influence of shaytan, if it was why would we use it to cook, its just been used to create shaytan.
qadiyani are far worse so their not even worthy to be included here
I am disappointed, quite frankly, is this how two muslims argue? I think not, insulting each other and using such harsh language to prove each other wrong.
how dare you!
the shaykhs scholars disagree on certain points of Islam and this is a blessing for us. But us, the people who are still learning, disagreeing and arguing is nothing but fitnah, especially when done in such a horrible way.
I advice you drop it now. Ahlussunahwaljama'ah, you have done many mistakes, the one that jumps out is the fact that you accused a brother without any proof.
You both are not here for a healthy debate, ready to learn from each other. You have decided that you are both right and the other is wrong and will not admit to your mistakes and accept knowledge from each other.
an example of your stubborness would be this silly argument over Ramadan.
Ramadan is a blessed month that everyone is happy to see arriving. Everyone is in a state of happiness and peacefulness thoroughout the month, and rightly so as all the major shayaateen are tied up. Eid-ul-fitr is a festival, a celebration.
i cannot fathom how you two could have been arguing over this, hence why my previous paragraph is so small, i cannot put into word what you seems to be arguing over.
My last point, you are arguing over ENGLISH words like festival, celebrations, blessed. when everything the prophet (pbuh) ever mentionned was in arabic, and everything Allah subhanahou wa ta'ala ever said was in arabic. When both of you have studied and learn the meaning of these words (festival, celebrations, blessed etc...) in their actual contect and original language, then you will have more ground to stand on to argue.
Please do not be hurt by my words, i mean only to advice.

oh please you think id say any of this without evidence:
RAMADAN.........What is It?
Ramadan is derived from the Arabic root word ramida or arramad intense
scorching heat and dryness, especially the ground. From the same root
there is ramdaa, sunbaked sand, and the famous proverb: "Kal Mustajeer
minar Ramadaa binnar" - to jump out of the frying pan into the fire. And
in a hadith the Messenger of Allah (saas) said : "The prayer of repenters
is due when the young camel can feel the sun's heat early in the morning."
(Muslim)
Thus, the Ramadan is so called to indicate the heating sensation in the
stomach as a result of thirst. Others said it is so called because Ramadan
scorches out the sins burns the ground. Some said it is so called because
the hearts and souls are more readily receptive to the admonition and
remembrance of Allah during Ramadan, ad the sand and stones are receptive
to the sun's heat. The framers of this beautiful language may have been
inspired by Allah (SWT) in naming this month Ramadan. Otherwise, the
relation between the heat and its properties is miraculously similar to
that of Ramadan. While the heat represents the matter that helps shape,
form, and mold virtually every matter, from metal and plastics, to plants
and living cells-Ramadan undoubtedly helps a serious believe remold,
reshape, reform, and renew his physical and spiritual disposition and
behaviour.
FASTING:
Fasting, siyamm, has two meanings. Generally, siyaam or sawm, is derived
from the root sama, to retrain from normal things, such as eating,
drinking, and talking. If an individual refrains from these things, he is
considered saaim, the observer of fast. Al-Qur'an uses the word generally
when it revealed the conversation between the angel and Mary, the of Jesus,
as the angel instructed her "And if you do see any man say, "I have vowed
to remain silent for Allah". (Al-Qur'an 19:26)
The phrase "to remain silent," is the interpretation of the Arabic word
"sawm". The reason for this interpretation is that "sawm" cannot mean
fast, i.e. restraint from food, because Mary had just been told to eat from
the palm tree. This general meaning is common in the Arabic language.
In the Shari'ah (Islamic law) the "sawm" means and implies a specific act ,
which is, "to worship Allah, abstaining, with intention to please Him from
fast breakers, such as physical nourishment, food, drink, and sexual
intercourse a lustful discharge of semen from the period between the break
of dawn until sundown."
As this definition implies, the Islamic fasting is total abstinence from
any food, particles passing through the mouth or nose, as well as drinks of
any kind - water, milk, juice, etc. - along with abstinence from sexual
association during the day that commences from the break of dawn till sunset.
Although the definition indicated restraining the stomach and private
parts, the tongue, eyes ears and other limbs are equally obligated to be
restrained if the faster want to gain the total rewards of fasting. This
is why the Messenger of Allah (saas) has been reported as saying in hadith
by Abu Hurairah: "He who does not desist from obscene language and acting
obscenely (during the period of fasting), Allah has no need that he didn't
eat or drink." (Bukhari, Muslim). In another hadith by abu Harairah (raa),
the Prophet (saas) said: "Fasting is not only from food and drink, fasting
is to refrain from obscene (acts). If someone verbally abuses you or acts
ignorantly toward you, say (to them) 'I am fasting; I am fasting.'"(Ibn
Khuzaoinah)
Indeed, these two reports imply fasting will not be complete until one
observes three elements:
1. Restraining the stomach and the private parts from the break of the
fast food and drinks.
2. Restraining the jawarih, the other body parts, which may render the
fast worthless despite the main factor of hunger and thirst; so the tongue,
for instance, must avoid backbiting, slander, and lies; the eyes should
avoid looking into things considered by the Lawgiver as unlawful; the ears
must stop from listening to conversation, words, songs, and lyrics that
spoil the spirit of fasting; and,
3. Restraining of the heart, and mind from indulging, themselves in
other things besides dhikir Allah (remembrance of Allah).
What is ramadan
Ramadan, the Muslim holy month, takes place during the ninth month of the Muslim calendar. A time for worship and contemplation, Ramadan marks the day the Koran was sent down from Heaven via the angel Jibrail AS to Prophet Muhammad SAW. To allow for complete devotion to their faith, Muslims must abide by stringent rules from dawn until sunset for the entire month. Eating, drinking, smoking, and sex are strictly forbidden during daylight. In addition, Muslims must show greater sympathy for the needy and poor. Fasting plays a key role in accomplishing these goals by allowing for greater concentration on the spiritual, generating empathy for the hungry and cleansing the body of overindulgence.
Ramadan is a month were muslims observe the fardh saum, and a month where we devote ourselves to worshipping allah, read the quran and many other betyful acts, its not a month of celebration, as YOU the guy is saying it is a celebration like eid, which is clearly not the case, it is not a festival, nor a holiday.
Before you jump through intellectual hurdles, have you ever heard the phrase "Ramadan Mubarak"?
The arabic equivalent of celebrate is yafrahoo, which means to be happy.
Have you been to any Muslim country in Ramadan? Please tell me you don't see the cheer and the festivities there?
Any Muslim country from Saudi to Morocco to Turkey to indonesia. Anywhere in the world.
All you have to do is go there and open your eyes and look and report what you see.

when someone comes to your house and you say asalamualaikum does this mean your celebrating?
if i was to say asalamualaikum to you right now does that mean im celebrating? if course not im just greeting you, no different to that in islam you are allowed to welcome the month of ramadan, you are WELCOMING the month of ramadan, not celebrating it like its eid your just welcoming it, you are happy that the month of blessing has finally come so you are welcoming it, not celebrating it like you do for eid but welcoming the month of ramadan.
again if i was to welcome you to my house does this mean im celebrating? no im just welcoming you, like that we welcome ramadan.
as for the actual word ramadan mubarak:
Is saying Ramadan Mubarak be bidah
Is saying "Ramadan Mubarak" or "Ramadan Kareem" considered to be bid3ah?.
Praise be to Allaah.
There is nothing wrong with congratulating one another at the beginning of the month. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to tell his Companions the good news of the onset of Ramadaan, and urge them to make the most of it. Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month. Allaah has made it obligatory on you to fast (this month). During it the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are locked, and the devils are chained up. In it there is a night that is better than a thousand months, and whoever is deprived of its goodness is deprived indeed.’” (Reported by al-Nisaa'i, 4/129; Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1/490)
Call it what you want. It is just a side issue anyway, as you accepted that the Muslims did take the ashurah celebration from the Jews and then doubled the fasting to two days.
and yes, those fasts are/were for celebration even though great tragedies also befell on those days.

i think this debate is close. Ramadan in itself is not celebration, but it is allowed and sunnah to tell each other about its arrival. the two can work together without contradicting each other. walhamdoulillah 'alaa koulli haal.

muslims didnt take it from jews, read the hadith from kuhari muhammad SAW said we have more right to do it then the jews, as the reality is musa AS is a muslim prohet not jew, and we muslims know the reality of his life, and on that day this certain thing happend on musa AS, theirfore we muslims have the right to fast on that day as he is a muslim prophet our prophet theirfore we have the right to do the fast more then the jews do as he is our prophet not theirs. Our religion is true theirs is not.
again its not a celebration, muhammad SAW narrated in bukhari “So we fast it out of respect for it.” another narration from sahih stated out of grattitude to allah, so from muhammad SAW own words its not to celebrate but we do it out of

well im the one who stated that and provided the evidence for that and stated what ramadan truely is, he didnt
So we didn't take it from the Jews. just that the sahabahs saw the Jews fasting on the day in happiness, as a celebration and asked the prophet who said we had more right to it...
you are jumping through intellectual hurdles to define what is a celebration and what is not a celebration.
Would you consider the walima a celebration?
How about the meal after a new born baby or when they cut its hair for the first time?
Are they celebrations?

theirs a big difference to when we say celebration theri and referring to the ones of eid, celebration of eid is a festival celebration, in this type of celebration only the 2 eids are allowed.
the other celebration is just a happy moment like when i pass my exam i am happy so that is viewed as a celebration, not celebration in the term above but just being happy on something thats the type were marriage and the others fit into.
Second of all the musa AS situuation was a islamic thing, and it was also known by the jewish, no different to how theirs many similarites between islam and christian does that mean islam took those info from christians? what the jews did was from islam it is known bible and torah was fabricated from islam and that certain thing was one of the few things that wasnt fabricated so the jews kept on doing it, but it was originally something that belonged to muslims and was continued after jews first came about. Later when islam came again we just simply took back the action that truely belonged to us.
You might wanna research the definition of celebration in islm along with other major arabic words as you need to know them to understand certain things, long with what is celeration and what is a act of worhip. is salah celebration keep thatin mind
Besides we are supposed to celebrate all the blessings and mercies that have been given to us by out lord.
I don't think you know what makes the two eids different from other celebrations... why are they special?
(and on tribune someone has just reminded me of another celebration, one of either the birthday of the prophet or of the hijrah [or both] where the people from habasha would come and celebrate in the prophet's mosque. They would even dance.)

one example that goes against your "only the 2 eids = celebration"
We (Muslims) are Scriptures before us. And this was their day (Jummah) the celebration of which was made compulsory for them but they differed about it. So ALLAH gave us the guidance for it (Friday) and all the other people are behind us in this respect: the Jews' the last (to come) but (will be) the foremost on the Day of Resurrection though the former nations were given the Holy (holy day is) tomorrow (i.e. Saturday) and the Christians' (is) the day after tomorrow (i.e. Sunday)." you save the old lady, but when the police walks in, yu dont jump in their face saying you're the one who saved her.
I don't think you fully comprehend how big a thing shirk is and how big an accusation it is to make of others.
Declaring vast swathes of the ummah mushrik all in one fell swoop is not a good thing.
If suddenly by your definitions a large proportion of Muslims become mushrik, it is a good idea to relook over the definition to make sure they are correct.
(Since you have changed your beliefs from one group to another, I assume you also consider your parents to be part of the mushrik group, unless they changed too?)

But still eid = celebration
Eid (festival) is the name given to something which returns ya’ood , and is used to describe gatherings which happen repeatedly, on a yearly, monthly or weekly basis, etc. So an ‘eid includes a number of things, such as a day which comes regularly, e.g., ‘Eid al-Fitr and Friday; gatherings on that day; and actions such as acts of worship and customs
which are done on that day.

The Fast of ‘Ashura (The 10th of Muharram)
I dont see what you're trying to prove there.

is ramadan a celebration? last i checked no it isnt ashura is no different it is not a day of celebration last i checked read the bukhari hadith on ashura to get a better understanding its their above
im guessing your qadri
Yes, Ramadan is a celebration.
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
use your brain man, eid is a celebration, ramadan is not celebration, its the month of fasting, a month of worship, is salah a celebration? no its a act of worship just like that ramadan is a month of fasting, fasting is a act of worship not celebration, i think you should learn the difference between celebration and worship, ramadan is not celebration a month where muslims fast and fasting is not a celebration its a act of worship, even nonmuslims understand this and you the illeterate sufis dont.
you the ahlul bidah dont teach me what ahlus sunnah wal jama-ah is, it means the people of the sunnah or as some say the family of sunnah, go back to the teachings of isla, the quran and sunnah, the story of the imam, imam shafi used to say sufi are a corrupt group, imam abu hanifa RH debated sufis, imam malik rejected many of sufi act and its written in his book, and ssame with imam hanbal, all great scholars of past refuted their beliefs and proved them wrong, why do you think like muslims vs chrsitian debates sufsi always lose? because your beliefs are wrong theirfore you get exposed, it contradicts the quran and sunnah, the salafs the tabieen and the tabi tabieen and the greeat schoalrs of the past and today.
The Prophet
taught the sahabahs who taught their students whot aught their students. you reject a millenium of them and then support new ideas that were not fitting with all the scholarly tradition and have the foolishness to call others ahlul bid'ah?
What a joke.
Are you aware that the prophet
fasted on mondays because that was the day he
was born?

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
read the ibn arabi thread and the sufi bidah one it lists every innovation and shirk acts of sufi, or rather majority of them then youll know which ones.
im not presenting evidence, you cant even provide evidence for your beliefs and your challenging me in providing evidence fine i'll do that right now:
starting with the sufi beliefs well the threads contain refutes tothe main sufi/barelvi aqeeda, did you forget about the hadith which muhammad SAW says do not follow a scholar blindly, and the one where muhammad SAW says about innovation and shirk, when a scholar starts doing this he not worthy of teaching anyone as he will be teaching people falsehood not islam, and hey learnislam learn the difference between celebration and worship man, you are trying teach me islam and you dont even know the difference between the 2? is salah celebration? no it isnt its a worship in ramadan we fast a act of worship not celebration, we see how the poor feels, sicne when is seeing how the poor feels celebration? does a poor man celebrate that his poor, and as muhamamd SAW sai ramadan is the month of ibadah, the month of quran, the month to increase ibadah not celebrate learn the difference.
now to your false and deviant scholars:

Subject: DEVIANT SECTS AND SCHOLARS/TAHIRUL QADRI - TAHIRUL QADRI'S CORRUPT BELIEFS
We humbly supplicate in the Darbar of Almighty Allah that He reward these distinguished Ulema for having revealed this new and corrupt group.
i believe thats enough evidence on this deviant, ibn arabi evidence is their and what other scholars do you follow nazim haqqani, name them.
fire is not influence of shaytan, if it was why would we use it to cook, its just been used to create shaytan.
qadiyani are far worse so their not even worthy to be included here

ahlussunah... i have not read your latest post.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
oh please you think id say any of this without evidence:
- along with abstinence from sexual
association during the day that commences from the break of dawn till
sunset.
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
when someone comes to your house and you say asalamualaikum does this mean your celebrating?
if i was to say asalamualaikum to you right now does that mean im celebrating? if course not im just greeting you, no different to that in islam you are allowed to welcome the month of ramadan, you are WELCOMING the month of ramadan, not celebrating it like its eid your just welcoming it, you are happy that the month of blessing has finally come so you are welcoming it, not celebrating it like you do for eid but welcoming the month of ramadan.
again if i was to welcome you to my house does this mean im celebrating? no im just welcoming you, like that we welcome ramadan.
as for the actual word ramadan mubarak:
And Allaah knows best.
See: (Alsiyam - 70 Issues Related to Fasting).
Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid
good news and congratulations... hmm...
Call it what you want. It is just a side issue anyway, as you accepted that the Muslims did take the ashurah celebration from the Jews and then doubled the fasting to two days.
and yes, those fasts are/were for celebration even though great tragedies also befell on those days.
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
mashallah you have done your research. when you are typing your posts there is this symbols at the top of the textboxs with a littleman and a speechbubble. use this whenever you copy paste anything so that we may know what is your words and what is from someone else. You can also copy paste the link, for future reference.
i think this debate is close. Ramadan in itself is not celebration, but it is allowed and sunnah to tell each other about its arrival. the two can work together without contradicting each other. walhamdoulillah 'alaa koulli haal.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
muslims didnt take it from jews, read the hadith from kuhari muhammad SAW said we have more right to do it then the jews, as the reality is musa AS is a muslim prohet not jew, and we muslims know the reality of his life, and on that day this certain thing happend on musa AS, theirfore we muslims have the right to fast on that day as he is a muslim prophet our prophet theirfore we have the right to do the fast more then the jews do as he is our prophet not theirs.
So we didn't take it from the Jews. just that the sahabahs saw the Jews fasting on the day in happiness, as a celebration and asked the prophet
who said we had more right to it...
you are jumping through intellectual hurdles to define what is a celebration and what is not a celebration.
Would you consider the walima a celebration?
How about the meal after a new born baby or when they cut its hair for the first time?
Are they celebrations?
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
theirs a big difference to when we say celebration theri and referring to the ones of eid, celebration of eid is a festival celebration, in this type of celebration only the 2 eids are allowed.
the other celebration is just a happy moment like when i pass my exam i am happy so that is viewed as a celebration, not celebration in the term above but just being happy on something thats the type were marriage and the others fit into.
More intellectual hurdles.
Besides we are supposed to celebrate all the blessings and mercies that have been given to us by out lord.
I don't think you know what makes the two eids different from other celebrations... why are they special?
(and on tribune someone has just reminded me of another celebration, one of either the birthday of the prophet
or of the hijrah [or both] where the people from habasha would come and celebrate in the prophet's mosque. They would even dance.)
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
and why do you feel the need to mention this? showing off?
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
one example that goes against your "only the 2 eids = celebration"
"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi
if you were to see a thief attacking a elderly would you just sit their and say i'll wait for the police, the situation here is worse then that, people doing bidah and shirk and i feel the responsibility in doing something
lol my bad, I would have read your previous comments if you hadn't just copied and pasted most of them.
But still eid = celebration
"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi
you save the old lady, but when the police walks in, yu dont jump in their face saying you're the one who saved her.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
I don't think you fully comprehend how big a thing shirk is and how big an accusation it is to make of others.
Declaring vast swathes of the ummah mushrik all in one fell swoop is not a good thing.
If suddenly by your definitions a large proportion of Muslims become mushrik, it is a good idea to relook over the definition to make sure they are correct.
(Since you have changed your beliefs from one group to another, I assume you also consider your parents to be part of the mushrik group, unless they changed too?)

Eid (festival) is the name given to something which returns ya’ood , and is used to describe gatherings which happen repeatedly, on a yearly, monthly or weekly basis, etc. So an ‘eid includes a number of things, such as a day which comes regularly, e.g., ‘Eid al-Fitr and Friday; gatherings on that day; and actions such as acts of worship and customs
which are done on that day.
if they come asking making comments or ask what was going on here anyyone would have to explain what happend no different to uthman RA when people were making cerian comments about him he reminded them wht he did for the ummah, thats not showing off just stating the facts
