sorry to be a wet blanket, but please bear with me girls...
i cant imagine wearing a sari with a headscarf. the whole point of its elegance is the way it falls over ones body - its meant to outline ones figure. even if the blouse is long, saris are not saris if they aren't wrapped around properly.
so i dont see how one can wear hijab and a 'loose' sari??

yeh well proper indian saris have blouses cut short to reveal the waist, muslims can have long-sleeved long blouses which dont show any skin though. BUT my point was, the sari is wrapped in such a way that its figure-hugging anyway... :?

no the ones u see in bollywood films are tooo revealing there are saris which cover u completely and this does depend on how u have ur pallu, which can cum around well cant xplain, as sum saris can be worn too tight around the waist.
and iam planning to wear it to a mehndi so all women gathering but good point raised i guess well have to be careful in future

it all depends on how you wrap the sari...the first few times you wrap it - it obviously needs ta be tight but with the rest of the material left over (which is a lot) you can wrap it in such a way that you cant see the shape of your body - i know because thats what my mum did on halas wedding and it looked great :!: with a hijab 2

alhumdulillah most of my mates' parties are segregated and any function my immediate family holds is segregated. other than that, ur right, i dont bother taking my 'abaya/jilbab off coz guys always break down all semblance of segregation at weddings.
