And You Thought You Had It Bad…

Salaam

How often have become depressed over something that is bothering us? How often do we sit there feeling sorry for ourselves because of something that has happened?

And how many times do we put our problems into perspective by comparing it to those who maybe more stressed out them we are?

Only a few days ago I was sitting in a lecture in Uni feeling sorry for myself….and I got talking to the person next to me and that individual (unintentionally) made feel like an ungrateful spoilt little girl after I heard their life story…

I spent a day with another friend of mine the other day…all she could talk about was getting beats from her parents, forced marriage stress, financial problems and an “evil” stepmother…

Another person was telling me about working three difficult jobs, just to pay for her rent and bills.

And the more I think about it…most people I know are suffering from stressful problems.

It so easy to get bogged down by the one or two minor things in life that may be stressing us out…and overlook the 101 things that are going for us.

Allah (swt) says that “Man is ever ungrateful”. How often do we count our blessings? How often do we sit there and mention and appreciate all that Allah (swt) has blessed us with one by one?

Allah (swt) says that even if we were to count all our blessings we wouldn’t be able to..

SO, this thread is sort of like an appreciation thread for all that Allah (swt) has blessed us with. Mention, appreciate, highlight and give thanks to what Allah (swt) has given you….

Show that you’re pleased with Him (swt) so that He (swt) becomes pleased with you. And also discuss the virtues and benefits of contentment and gratefulness in Islam.

Wasalaam

I am greatful to Allah (swt) that i was born as a Muslim and that i am an ummati of the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him)

Yeah very true, because there is a blessing in everything, you just need to be able to see it, from having to deal with a annoying brother to having the best mum and dad possible. There fulfilment in there somewhere, just depend on how open you are too see it. From good there bad and from bad there good as well. A very important concept to remember.

"A true Muslim is thankful to Allah in prosperity, and resigned to His will in adversity."

Women are the least grateful creatures.

Most of them are always trying to acquire more and more and more.

Just take a look at their wardrobe; and the long line of shoes. You will get some idea.

Its never enough for them.

They are never satisfied.

God !!

I think my girlfriend literally has something in the echelon of 500 pairs of shoes.

It's kinda hard to tell because she's got a little room that wings off her closet just for shoes and I always get yelled at when I try to go in for a count.

WHAT IS THAT?!

Women are generally ungrateful people. I'm not going to deny that...

Ungratefulness is one of the reasons why there will be more women in hell :?

This is women thingy!!.

I am grateful. Insha Allah t'ala

failing that I am happy Insha Allah t'ala.

failing that, I trust in the mercy of the one who sent the mercy of all mercies SAW unto us that we may not be lost from the love of The Grateful One SubhanAllah.

Biggrin (does posting with a smiley make the post a Sadqah?)

Gentleness and kindness were never a part of anything except that it made it beautiful, and harshness was never a part of anything except that it made it ugly.

Through cheating, stealing, and lying, one may get required results but finally one becomes

First and foremost im grateful for being a muslim and for having a caring family.

Attempting to list all the blessings that Allah (swt) has bestowed upon us would be huge task and as MuslimSister said "Allah (swt) says that even if we were to count all our blessings we wouldn’t be able to.. "

But that doesnt mean we shouldnt identify specific blessings, cos it can help to appreciate them more.

Wasalaam

gratefulness is the key to happiness

acquiring shoes and bags is a womans progative! abundance of good accessories maketh a woman even happier Lol

lol-my sister also has thing for bags and scarfs

I'm into shoes and jumper tops myself

my motto is-if u have the money u spend

looking out for those who are less fortunate shows gratefulness to God too

EXACTLY

instead of saying "Thanks God for everything"

if a person says "Thanks for my health, wealth, happiness, family, peace of mind etc tc etc

it conveys more gratefulness and like u said a person appreciates it more

thankful to be alive

thankful for the simplest of things in life, the simple things many take for granted, yet would be lost without. i.e mobility, sight, senses etc

thankful for my parents, thankful for my mum, thankful for my Mother, thanful for Ameey Jee, thankful for my shop, thankful for my house, thankful for my 3 bros and 1 sister, thankful for the select few friends who are real friends, thankful to be affiliated with such great teachers, thanful for my nice pair of trainers lol

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.
