thinking your thinking is wrong?

erm...i was wondering if its like possible to think too much. like sometimes i think about stuff and life in general and i get thoughts flashing in my mind. but some of these thoughts seem to be so out of islam. like i will think of a certain aspect of islam and i'll get a thought that makes me feel bad, but it dosn't go away coz i then sit worrying over how bad it is and wat if i'm right and all that palava. anyone here able to help? i sound like i need a counsellor. sorry guys!lol

...dont think u need a cousellor ..well im sure that your not the only one. i have that happen to me sometimes aswel and its at the worst time sometimes and i just shake my head and remind myself that im blessed to be muslim alhamdulillah and i think strongly of islam...read a surah or i just say astagfar...from what i know we are not judged on what we think but rather by our actions in islam...but if im wrong im sure someone will say so

and dont worry too much about it whenever such a thought comes into your mind just read a qur'an surah or think strongly of your faith.

afaik, there is nothing wrong with those thoughts and even the sahabah once asked the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) that sometimes they had thoughts that they would rather perish than repeat/have. The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) replied that they were a sign of strong iman.

(the devil has less need to give such thoughts to people who already are on the wrong path)

but are we judged on what we think...life if we think something badd ...is that a sin then or is it not considered a sin....are we only judged on out physical actions? sorry Aysha lol im kinda puttin a question in here aswel now im kinda curious nw.

no worries Suahil. you got me hooked now too. lol. thanks by the way.

you get rewarded for good thoughts but not punished for bad thoughts - unless you dwell on then (eg, if you are really planning on killing someone, plan it all out... that will probably be be considered sinful), but then refraining from acting on bad thoughts is also considered a good deed.

Possibly need a counsellor but you might be a bit specific if you're asking what if you're right and fretting squaredz.
  • It can never be satisfied, the mind, never. -- Wallace Stevens

You don’t need a counsellor, everyone gets thoughts and probably way crazier than yours. You are not alone!!! We’re not accountable for our thoughts as it’s something we can’t control so you won’t get punished for them. Sometimes it is just the whispers of shaytan.

I asked this question to a shaykh the other day and he said:

-Try to ignore the thoughts, don’t think about them
-Seek forgiveness for the thoughts (make istighfaar)
-Don’t make the thoughts seem bigger than what they are
-You’re not accountable for the thoughts unless you act upon them or intend for them to happen

Noor that was great, thanks alot. thanks guys. put my mind at ease now.

All you need is Imam Ali. Just say "Ya Ali Madaad" and he will help you.
Ali is God's helper in all your troubles. If you love him and call on him, then you will have no more troubles. You will be completely happy.

Lol

was thinking the same thing. i'm more into worshiping Allah than Ali (ra). sorry.

How will you worship God unless Ali tell you how to do that?

Through the guidance of God?

How will be guide you? Will Allah come down for you?

through sunnah of beloved prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Ali RA was a khalif and has a great status in islam..but you (Shi'ah muslims) take it too far ...ask him for help ....he can bring happiness...only Allah SWT can do that.

By sending a messenger - which He (swt) did. He (swt) sent the prophet (saw).

What God can't guide you without coming down to you?

That raises a few questions.

1) why does God need to 'come down' to you, isn't He everywhere?

2) Why can Ali do something that God can't?

3) Is God Not all powerful?

If God can do all that, as you claim, then why does He need to send Messengers?

So Allah doesnt bestow the bounty on everybody does He?

There are conditions. Imam Ali is number one.

He doesn't need to. He chose to. We as creation also have been instilled with a basic humanity inside each one of us, which compels towards good and peacefulness.

Beyond that basic message, we as Muslims are also compelled to be more than merely good - there are additional laws and guidance laid down within the qur'an and that is something that was revealed - kind of a guide on how to use the tools we have been given.

And that was done through the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) and the prophets before him.

Are YOU saying that there is something GOD cannot do, that Ali CAN do?
So is Ali MORE powerful than the God who created him?

Wow Malik. Seriously, I cannot believe that thoughts like these are going out. Malik, you really need to stop and get your Deen checked. Sure, you're a Shi'aa, but CHILL. you can't believe in Ali to help you, he was a human, blood and flesh like you. For God's sake HES DEAD!! He is in his grave, he doesn't know who in the world you are, he deosn't have a soul, YOU praying to HIM means absolutely nothing-that is, unless you're asking ALLAH swt to forgive ALI with ALLAH swt's Mercy. You are saying things that are really dangerous in Islam, so if you really are a Muslim, you need to stop. This is all for your own benefit, just trying to give you some advice.

Lol what iv been thinkin for the past couple days...someone has actually said ,yup.

He may be shia, but I doubt that he believes Hadhrat Ali (ra) can help anyone of his own accord - but that God has bestowed the power in him to do so. There is a big difference between the two - one of having faith and one of not having faith - even if you disagree with the end interpretation, the second one is not kufr as it is recognising that all power is with God.
