Bomb kills senior Pakistan cleric

Seems that its not enough to just cause chaos for them. I still advocate what I had once said that maybe their dead should be buried with swine flesh in the same grave. It may make them think twice.

Bomb kills senior Pakistan cleric

A leading anti-Taliban cleric has been killed in a suspected suicide bomb attack at his Islamic religious school in the Pakistani city of Lahore.

The explosion struck the Jaamia Naeemia madrassa around the time of Friday prayers, killing Sarfraz Naeemi, who often spoke out against militants.

Another blast hit a mosque close to a military depot in the north-western garrison town of Nowshera.

...

A leading Sunni Muslim scholar opposed to the Taliban, Mr Naeemi was known for his outspoken views against suicide bombings and militancy.

e was one of the few scholars who had openly supported the ongoing military operation in Swat and had labelled the activities of the Taliban "un-Islamic".

Mr Naeemi took part in a conference of Islamic scholars, convened by the government in May, which criticised suicide attacks and the beheading of innocent Muslims as un-Islamic.

He also told the media that the Taliban were "misusing" religion for their activities and were bringing a bad name to the Islamic faith.

He reportedly refused to have guards at his madrassa, saying it would restrict the entry of people into a place "where all should come freely"...

Was that in the dispatches documentary?

As for staying silent, if a scholar does that, he is more or less committing treason against the muslim community. It is their job to make sure the community knows what Islam is and says on matters.

Come on, that is just lame. It was the Taliban who warned of getting revenge, its the taliban who acted on it.

Blaming outside influences is weak and debilitating.

The Taliban get much of their money from the drug trade. As for the rest... ever wondered about the people who are collecting for aid for the displaced in Pakistan - about which side they are actually financing? I do. I have no idea which side they are on.

How dare you even such a preposterous thing!

it was OBVIOUSLY the US! Why else would the US have been created so many years ago other than to facilitate in the carrying out this one act?

And yet there are still people who would proclaim that bombing as righteous. Morons.

It is unislamic. It killed others that were not the target, people who were by all accounts innocents even if the main target was not considered one. It was carried out in a mosque and afaik the weapon was a child. More than enough to get condemnation from most sensible people.

However some people are blinded by nationalism - they accuse others of it while following the definition from hadith themselves. They see the Taliban as righteous simply because they proclaim themselves to be Muslims and trying to implement shariah (but are actually pushing their own culture).

From what I read, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) declared supporting "your people" (ie the Taliban in this case) even when you know they are wrong (ie suicide bombings, killing innocents, peddling drugs ) as assabiya (nationalism).

Tribal leader killed in Pakistan

A tribal leader who opposed the head of the Taliban in Pakistan has been shot dead in the north-western Pakistani town of Dera Ismail Khan, police said.

Qari Zainuddin, 26, who often criticised Taliban head Baitullah Mehsud, was killed by a gunman in his office early on Tuesday.

Earlier this month, Zainuddin hit out at Mehsud for recent attacks in which civilians have been killed...

I believe india at this present time are investing alot of money in people to go over to pakistan and organise and pull off such attacks, even people from remote areas where attacks have happened claim india to have a hand in it

Why would India benefit from the opposition to the taliban being killed?

Don't just do something! Stand there.

If that was the case, there would be evidence. Instead we have taliban spokespeople announcing their quest for vengeance followed by the vengeance. It is not too hard to surmise from there that it is people from/allied to the Taliban that is carrying out the acts.

Now if the taliban are being paid by foreign governments, that puts things in a whole new light... but even there there is no evidence.

And while there are people who believe that the Taliban are being paid off/funded by Israel/America, that is nothing more than a conspiracy theory - exactly the same as those that argue the opposite that the taliban is all virtue and its "foreign agents" carrying out the atrocities instead.

So where do they get their money? The drug trade would be a large part of it, and then in Pakistan they also took over gold/jewel mines which would provide additional finance.

Interesting to note that the above guy had also days earlier claimed links between Baitullah Mehsud and Israeli intelligence services. Well, according to PressTV he did, but I do not consider them all that reliable.
