Is it me or do the hanafi ulema generally have many differences of opinion amongst their circles, primarily between the indian ulema and the arabian ulema.
i.e. The issue of whether muslim females are permitted to shorten their hair or not?
indian ulema will say no pretty much unconditionally, while the arabian ulema will say yeah though imposing some conditions. (I wonder how many follow indian ulema on that issue !!!!)
Are there any more such fiqh issues which these groups of ulema differ upon?
Well, doesn't every school of thought?
I just analyse what each Ulema say, and whichever makes more sense to me I follow that. Just because the Arab or Indian Ulema says something that doesn't mean it MUST be the absolute truth. No, I question everything.
Did you hear about the Saudi Ulema who said that setting nasheeds as ringtones is haram?
Chin up, mate! Life's too short.
u got the text as well and it twas quranic recitation not nasheed.
What about having a recording of the azhaan as your alarm clock?
p.s. I don't think the Saudis are Hanafi. Or even much of Arabia at all.
Turkey and Indo-Pak s.c.
But my Turkish friend really confuses me cos a lot of the rulings from his country are very different from my pPakistani friends'
e.g. He doesn't delay 'Asr, he prays it at the same time as the other madhabs.
Don't just do something! Stand there.
According to their logic, will coughing in the middle of Quran recitation be haram?
Chin up, mate! Life's too short.
The Hanafi madhab stands out from other madhabs in quite a few things.
- The starting of Asr prayer
- Regarding the saying of 'Ameen' at the end of Surah Fatiha in congregation.
- Women showing their feet in prayer
- Some things which invalidate wudu
- and the list goes on...
I sort of notice stuff like that. Most people I know say Ameen outloud.
