Islamic pseudo-experts

Does anyone else feel that we have too many islamic pseudo-experts in the media?

What I appreciated about Zaki Badawi is that he had a depth of knowledge and good reasoning abilities even if you didn't always agree with him.

I'm sick of hearing people in the media like Haleh Afshar and Mona Siddiqui who are allegedly "scholars" of Islam but who seem to know less than me about it.

I was just listening to a BBC programme with Mona Siddique where the host claimed (ignorantly) that Sunnis and Shi'ites had always been killing eachother and she (Siddique) started apologizing for it and trying to explain it as if it were true which it just factually isn't.

I'd like to hear more from people like Michael Mumisa who know what they're talking about.

u mean michael mumisa the african brother, studying and teaching in Birmingham. If you mean who i think it is he;s my Arabic teacher

He;s written a few books aswell on Arabic, and Islamic law but to name a few.

He's a very intelligent man, always studying, and an excellent teacher!

Yep far too many ignorant experts around, especially on the air waves. In their zeal to do good they do more harm for our religion. Surely they must know that they don't have the correct knowledge or lack charisma so why don't they let those in the know do the job?

do you know him or you've heard him speak before?

I've heard speak on radio.

oh didn't realise he was in the media until now...
