What Did You learn Today?
Salaam
It is said that "knowledge is what you hear from the mouths of men as they only repeat the best of what they have heard"
I think it’d be useful to post tid-bits of invaluable information-religious/non religious here in this thread.
It can be stuff that you learnt in work/Uni/Mosque/in a talk/something a wise elder told you/a life experience or something that you suddenly realised.
It can be minor or major stuff. It has to be stuff that you never knew before.
Today I learnt…
1-Why I shouldn’t trust, join or think highly of the Sufi Muslim Council
2-It’s quicker for me to get to Uni by Car than public transport.
3-Rubicon Pomegranate juice is tasty and apparently very good for you.
4-Spending so much time typing on computers leads to illegible handwriting and poor spelling
5-Being in the spotlight on a regular basis results in a higher chance of insincerity in actions and can negate all good work.
Keep this thread updated regularly…
Wasalaam

What Did You learn Today?
Children have an incredibily strong sense of unfairness.
I took my class to see Cinderella in panatomine today and my 'angels' turned into a angry mob.
Allow booing - they were yelling, screming, hurling abuse, giving death threats and even giving the finger to the 'wicked stepmother'.
They know its 'pretend' but that didnt stop them from 'feeling cinderella's pain'.

I remember when i was little simmilar plays, you know how fun it is to be involved like that, i wouldnt blame them but im not saying you do.

Many teachers are fat cos..
-They manage 30kids in a class - and its always someone's b'day, which means there's always cake or chocolates for the teacher.
-Most teachers get xmas presents and end of year presents - which is usually chocolates or biscuits.
-In the staffroom there's always someone getting married, pregnant, leaving or celebrating their b'day which again means more cake for all.
I think from now on...instead of barking orders at my class in PE. I'll join in with them.

strictly speaking thats not true. If you hold your breath and someone comes and squeezes you real tight around your waist it can kill you.

depending on how tightly someone squeezed you, it wouldn't make a difference if you were holding your breath or not.
What if you're holding your breath and someone comes up and says 'if you don't breath now I'll shoot you', and then you still hold your breath, does that count?
What Did You learn Today?
^^ i think its very rare to kill someone in this way but nevertheless less still possible (my teacher was telling me of someone she knew), most of the time you just pass out. Takes me back to high school, some of the girls would do it just to get out of a lesson they didn’t like. The alternative was to set off the fire alarm but if you got caught you had to pay the £250 fine that the school paid out every time the fire service came down.
What Did You learn Today?
When I was at school, for a short while there was this craze where one would take some deep breaths, breathe out and hold it. Then another person would crush them. Fainting guaranteed. Maybe even convulsions.
Massive crackdown when the teachers found out.
/Being the sensible one, I stayed well away.

Sainsbury's and Tesco are the only two of the major supermarkets who are not majorly abusing Africans.
Their stuff also seems to cost more. A coincidence?

Price is not everything.

I've only known it to be extremely disliked, or even a minor sin but a major one?
Can be very cheeky and ask you to talk me through long division?
Lol. Too be honest Beast. I'd use a calculator.
But the traditional way to do it is to work out how many times a number goes into another number and then 'carry over' how many are left.
(I just spent the last five minute trying to work out a long division and explain how I got the answer - but a calculator check showed me that my answer was wrong)
Your best bet would be to use bitesize, they explain things in the best way....and so do their revision guides.
