What Did You learn Today?

It is said that "knowledge is what you hear from the mouths of men as they only repeat the best of what they have heard"

I think it’d be useful to post tid-bits of invaluable information-religious/non religious here in this thread.

It can be stuff that you learnt in work/Uni/Mosque/in a talk/something a wise elder told you/a life experience or something that you suddenly realised.

It can be minor or major stuff. It has to be stuff that you never knew before.

Today I learnt…

1-Why I shouldn’t trust, join or think highly of the Sufi Muslim Council

2-It’s quicker for me to get to Uni by Car than public transport.

3-Rubicon Pomegranate juice is tasty and apparently very good for you.

4-Spending so much time typing on computers leads to illegible handwriting and poor spelling

5-Being in the spotlight on a regular basis results in a higher chance of insincerity in actions and can negate all good work.

I went iceskating today.

I've learnt that ice skating is kinda like trying to accomplish stuff in life...when you fall over, you just get back up and try again. When you fall again, you just brush yourself and get back again... and again and again.

But when your body and ego cant take any more bruises. Its time to give up. 😃

Doctors have one of the most difficult jobs on the planet and they do it very well. The proof that they do it well is that people don't go around dying all the time.

Next time I'm ill I'd be much happier seeing a doctor than some guy who blows into bits of cloth or whatever

I think it depends on the doctor. If its an asian doctor then chances are that they dont have clue what theyr on about because they probs dont have a legit degree. I always prefer english docs they get to the root of the problem without the need to interroagte you about your whole khandaan :twisted:

well i think some asian docs don't do their job properly. They think coz they're asian and the patient is asian they can give us a shoddy second class service. They won't even look at the ailment but begin writing out a prescription first, and wave u out the door.

It's usually the asian male docs i have a problem with. My family doc of over ten yrs was like that, i detest the man. I refused to see him for 5 yrs or more, thank God i never fell ill.

At my new surgery one male doc is cool. the other is a total arrogant fool, i refuse to see him anymore. Thankfully there's a female doc there i see her when i need to go.

My first family doc, still doc to my parents and siblings used to be a drunkard back in the 80's, i remember quite clearly. My parents would laugh about it, i was quite young and naive, i used to say why did the doc walk funny coming into the house? He banged into the walls in the hall way when there's plenty of space? Course it's not funny drinking on the job. Told folks to get rid of him but they act like he's the best doc in the world. Yeah only coz they get a cabinet full of medicine from him when they're not even ill. :roll:

Unfortunately the same thing happened with my midwife, shoddy service after the very first appointment with her i thght yeah ur gona be replaced and i'll make sure i go for a caucasian more mature lady. I don;t care if i sound racist, coz that's the sort of service i've always got from asians shoddy. Caucasian folks don't treat me like this why asians, there must be a reason. My current midwife is a godsend, she needs to be nominated for an award.

My first midwife after i dumped her i went to an antenatal class and she was the teacher....i thght sugar i can pretend i'm in the wrong room and leave, coz i've got my face covered, or just sit down and act cool looool. So i just sat down. My doc obviously never passed on my complaint to her, although he agreed she was slightly incompetant looooooool.

Yeah... why treat the illness when its soo much easier to treat the symptoms. A wrong answer is still a wrong answer. Thank God! I dont fall ill.
