Generous lawyer
A local United Way office realized that the organization had never received a donation from the town's most successful lawyer. The person in charge of contributions called him to persuade him to contribute.
"Our research shows that out of a yearly income of at least $500,000, you give not a penny to charity. Wouldn't you like to give back to the community in some way?"
The lawyer mulled this over for a moment and replied, "First, did your research also show that my mother is dying after a long illness, and has medical bills that are several times her annual income?"
Embarrassed, the United Way rep mumbled, "Um ... no."
The lawyer interrupts, "or that my brother, a disabled veteran, is blind and confined to a wheelchair?"
The stricken United Way rep began to stammer out an apology, but was interrupted again.
"or that my sister's husband died in a traffic accident," the lawyer's voice rising in indignation, "leaving her penniless with three children?!"
The humiliated United Way rep, completely beaten, said simply, "I had no idea..."
On a roll, the lawyer cut him off once again, "So if I don't give any money to them, why should I give any to you?"

The 99 Names track in itself is worth getting.
On the version I've got 99 Names is listed twice. Darud Shareif is on twice also.
There's a bit too much talk and he should lay off the English singing.
But 99 Names of the Prophet ﷺ is defo top.
Jokes/Poetry or anythin alike!
...Yeah that CD is worth getting just for that track. However are there any other decent tracks on that CD?
Jokes/Poetry or anythin alike!
The other tracks are decent. There's nothing undecent.

Out of total curiousity what is the origin of the 99 names of Muhammad?
It kinda sounds like somebody is trying to copy the 99 names of God - the number is too coincidental.
Even if they don't use any of the names of God isn't that kinda shirkish?

Good question.
The 99 names of the Holy Prophet (saw), are all in the Qur'an.
Ya-Seen, Muzamil, Ta-ha etc etc are names that you may have come across in the beginning of Surah's (chapters)...some of the names are translated as having "unknown meanings"...however these titles/names of the Holy Prophet (saw).

Gotcha - another question in the line of the 99 names of God.
I am told muslims cannot name their children any of the names of God without altering to show subservance "abdul Jabbar" et c.
But some of the names are quite common without any attached subservance - why is this?
Like name 48 "`Ali" - and that was Muhammad's cousin's name even before he converted. I've got friends named Kareem and even our forum friend Latifa takes the female form of name 61 Al-Latif
does the definite article save you from this or something?
That can't be right either - i've got a friend with the surname al-`Aziz - name 44.

gud qsns.
The 99 names are not shirkish. It is from the beauty, eloquence, and poetic nature of arabic that for things which are of honour and of great love they have many names. So in arabic there 10s of words for lion, 10s of words for sword etc.
Now Holy Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam has 99 names, and this is in line with the tradition of arabic language to have a number of names for things which they hold in high esteem.
Secondly, regarding the 99 Names of ALLAH. First point is none of the names can be kept by a human with al, so al azeez, ar-rahmaan, as-salaam, al-wahhaab etc are completely and entirel impermissible. Names with the definitie article (al/the) cannot be kept in arabic.
The other thing is that SOME of the 99 names are not exclusive to ALLAH and can be kept by humans as normal names, and some names are completely impermissible for humans to have without the prefix of slave ('abd). Eg Rahmaan is not a permitted name for a human, no1 can call another human Rahmaan, he must NECESSARILY be Abd ar-Rahmaan, the slave of Rahmaan. But then other names such as 'Ali can be kept by humans without prefixing Abd, but al-Ali wud be completely wrong.
It is more complex and the reasons why some names can be kept and others not is steeped in linguistics and theology which I cant explain in much detail at present.
Jokes/Poetry or anythin alike!
Naming wise, there are two names you cannot use unless showing subservance.
Those are Allah, and Rahmaan.
A person cannot be called them.
Unless it is in subservance, such of servant of allah, or servant of Rahmaan.
AbdAllah and Abd ArRahman.
^ and ^^^ are bits of Arabic grammar. thus can be A or U depending the usage...
