The BIGGEST Islamic event EVER!!!

RuBz

Assalamu-Alaikum! Just wondering if anyone is going to the GLOBAL PEACE AND UNITY CONFERENCE. Its the biggest Islamic event going and loadsa people like Zain Bhikka, Dawud Whansby Ali and other guests speakers from around the world are gona be present In London, even the lady from pakistan sorry dont know her name. If your over the age of 6 then the ticket price is £12. Hope everyone can take this event as an advantage to form a strong Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood regardless of their backgrounds because these days muslims fight due to stupid reasons like oh they're pakistani so i hate them or they're bengali so i don't want nothin to do with him or her. Come on wake up people we are all equal in the eyes of ALLAH SWT and the only thing that can differentiate between us is our deeds so let us be on the same boat and stay as a big Muslim Ummah so that whatever our enemies strike us with they can never break down our Ummah as long as we stick together. I hope INSHA-ALLAH that everyone can make it and learn something new from it to help us lead better lives. WASSALAAM.

Oh! Is this the peace conference?

I've just realised 😂

Anyway, Yusuf Estes will be there. I wonder if he'll make his peace with Hamza Yusuf.

I read somewhere that the letter and email that was meant to have been from him was forged, That it was made by someone who had a vendatta against hamza, not sure but, woudn't trust the website that these letters are found on personally.

Anyway I read about Yusuf Estes conversion to Islam and it very inspriring indeed, with it all starting with him trying to convert a muslim when he was a priest and in the end leading to him being the one who converted.

Yusuf Estetes the guy from Muslim Aid?

and why the beef with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf? :?

15-20, 00 people.........they'll never manage

going back to the Unity confrence (same thing, smaller scale) they couldnt do it there

c'est not possible

I always thought he was a bit of a weirdo.

Never really liked evangelists - especially ones of his ilk, DoC are a little out to lunch.

It's doubly peculiar now that he applies his evangelism to Islam - most muslims I know are a little more docile and erudite.

Hayder - he and Hamza Yusuf don't get along largely because Yusuf is a sufi and Estes doesn't like Sufis.

Thinks they are just hippies who use Islam to further their hippy agenda.

Whatever that is

Dave — Fri, 2 Dec 2005 - 18:34
i dont like Estetes now 😂

who is he tho? now? head of Muslim Aid or is that someone else?
I dunno what organizations he runs - I just know him as that rather arrogant irritating "prophet to the white people"

He's big into trying to do wholesale conversions of "Americans" - primarily targets white devout christians.

He also likes to say he's a wahabbi and defends wahabism a lot - and pretends he's a sheik on his website but from what i've read he never went through any training.

I dunno.. don't trust him - some people you just get a vibe from.

Hamza Yusuf is his polar opposite - he's erudite, self reflective, patient, and generally more interesting and pleasant.

Dave — Fri, 2 Dec 2005 - 18:48

Yea that's "Sheikh" Estes pretty well.

His website is just a massive scheme to sell videos and accept donations - and he's never gone through religious training.

Doesn't have time for that sorta thing - besides he's right and everybody else is wrong... end of story.

He is literally an evangelist muslim - lol see why I don't like evangelists?

When he can't answer a question he covers his tracks by doing a 20 minute preface of reverent phrases in arabic until you don't follow anymore:

Dave: Whats the capital of Azerbaijan?
Estes: Bismillah ir rahman ir rahim, mashallah allahu ackbar jazakhair salaamu alaikum Kabul.
Dave: No Estes... that's not the capital of Azerbaijan

Kinda like how if you ask a Christian evangelist a question they don't know the answer to they just shout "Jesus Saves!!!!"

It's like it's hardwired into em

Dave — Fri, 2 Dec 2005 - 18:59

Yea that's "Sheikh" Estes pretty well.
Estes????? huh
The guy we've been talking about - The link is to a question answered by sheikh Gibril Haddad about the accusations by Estes against Hamza Yusuf.

lol Estes is this crazy fmr christian evangelist who is your problem now.

Hey! you capitalized your name!

Dawud — Sun, 4 Dec 2005 - 00:18
Why don't you like SunniPath Hayder?
We were warned off of that and deenport by a sheikh at Al Hidayah.

Also The pious possessor of the keys to the Holy Kabba is Saudi and is also Sunni, there is alot of sunnis in Saudi, I believe the stat was 80% of the Arab world are sunni. However the govt keeps them out of the media and presents their own Salafi-ness.
