I know, hope that I never be in that situation nor that I ever have to express condolence to any1 in that situation. and also that every1 else never comes across it either.

I also got a story about this but it aint about any1 I know. A reliable source told me that when the Northern Alliance took power in Afghanistan, their actions with the arabs wives of the arab mujahideen were well-known. They approached a home where the hashmi wives of Egyptian Mujahideen were residing. The poor women of the holy household could not take their shame and killed themselves rather than be dishonoured by the apostates.

i heard something similar - the Northern Alliance seem to be famous for the degradation of women. :evil:

the version i heard was in the news - about 50/80 (cant remember which figure) afghan women who became pregnant as a result of rape drowned themselves.

Any1 who likes to condemn the person who commits suicide to hell may do so. But I cant do that.

I pray for them, and my ALLAH is better to judge them.

The people I WILL judge are those who forced the women into such situations. For them, I have no pity or sympathy or mercy. Just as I have no sympathy for those paki soldiers who committed sins on the women of east pakistan (bangladesh.)

woe to those men...i deeply sympathise with these ladiez, what else could they do. Cant believe how angry i get when i hear such stuff

People this is nothing for the northern alliance.

It was those apostates who ran afghanistan before taliban and it was these ''mujahideen'' groups who were the cause of women being unsafe in the whole country. They were the ones who used women and YOUNG BOYS for indecent acts. That Gul Agha of Kandahar before 1994 OPENLY married a young boy.

These are the people who have dominion in that land. They are disgusting animals and I hope they go to the worst hell.

In such situations where women commit suicide to save their respect is a different matter. Its not easy to kill yourself but in such cases i think they have a valid reason (the respect of a woman means everythin to her). Allah judges ones actions through their intentions.

i believe even in such situation it is wrong to commit suicide...

It is wrong to commit suicide and it is easy for us to say this becuz we have an easy life and are not forced to lose our respect and may Allah (swt) safeguard us and other sisters forever. Like i said only Allah (swt) can judge that as he knows what is in the heart of the person and how "desperate" the person was to do such an act.

I have also heard that Hazrat Fatima (ra) said:
"The thing which is most beloved to a woman is that no strange man should look at her".

from what i knew...no matter what hardship a fellow muslim has to go through suicide is defo not an option to consider...

every life belongs to allah s.a.w and we have no right what so ever to harm ourselves or to end our own lifes,

BUT allahu alam how they act will be judged.

Suicide is haraam period. But for some reason people are quick to condemn the suicide person to hell, but pray for the forgiveness of the neglector of prayers, or the devourer of usury etc.

You made a very gud point naj, ALLAH will judge them, not us.

Exactly, only Allah (swt) knows best, I personally dont agree with suicide but in these situations you cant blame the person becuz for them it seems they have no way out.

[size=16][b]Q.[/b][/size] When I was in highschool I remember hearing something about a woman being permitted to commit suicide when she is about to be raped. True? This came up in a recent conversation with a friend in relation to war-torn regions, and because I had heard it many years ago and don't recall the source, I thought I'd ask.

[size=16][b]A.[/b][/size] Committing Suicide (as we are all aware) is strictly forbidden in Islam and can never be justified. No matter how miserable and depressed one becomes, one must not kill oneself.

Allah Most High says:

“Do not kill yourselves, for indeed Allah is Most Merciful to you.” (Surah al-Nisa, V. 29)

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:

“Whoever intentionally throws himself from a mountain and kills himself, will be in the fire (of Hell) falling down into it and abiding therein eternally forever; and whoever drinks poison and kills himself with it, he will be carrying his poison in his hand and drinking it in the fire (of Hell) wherein he will abide eternally forever; and whoever kills himself with an iron weapon, will be carrying that weapon in his hand and stabbing his abdomen with it in the fire (of Hell) wherein he will abide eternally forever.” (Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

Therefore, committing suicide even for fear of being raped cannot be justified in Islam. It is true that this is easier said than done and it is difficult for an outsider to judge such a situation, but in light of the evidences, it is difficult to declare committing suicide permissible in such situations.

Sayyiduna Jundub (Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “There was amongst those before you a man who had a wound. He was in (such) anguish that he took a knife and made with it a cut in his hand, and the blood did not cease to flow till he died. Allah the Almighty said: “My servant has himself forestalled me; I have forbidden him Paradise.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 1298 & Sahih Muslim, no. 180)

This narration clearly shows the impermissibility of killing oneself even in extreme anguish and pain, for in killing oneself, one is bringing death upon one’s self before Allah Almighty gives one death. Thus, it will not be permitted to commit suicide even if carried out in defence of one’s honour.

In such a case, a Muslim woman should resist her attacker with all means possible. If he kills her during her struggle to prevent him raping and abusing her, she will be considered a martyr (shahida), thus securing a place in heaven (jannah).

Having said that, we should not condemn those Muslim sisters of ours who committed such acts, for only Allah knows what kind of situation they were in, and what emotional and physical trauma they faced. Thus, we should pray for them and seek their forgiveness, and it is not beyond the mercy of Allah to forgive them.

Actually a cow needs to be milked around THREE times a day.

It will not explode if not milked, but can find it very painful (milk is a cooling mechanism... the heat is transfered to the milk which is then shed... cools the cow down.)

and apparently cows can milk themselves if in enough pain...
