It's not that I struggled, I didn't really read it. I don't like reading REALLY long articles on the Web, if there's a manual copy in front of me , then that's different, because I can highlight and take notes.

I just wanted to ask if any of the writers who write for the Revival Magazine regularly post on the forums?

As i've mentioned before, i'm trying to gain more knowledge in regards to Islam - reading books and listening to lectures doesnt really work for me. I understand things a lot more when they are explained to me directly in an informal way which is why I really enjoy reading The Revival Magazine and the writers are Mashallah very talented and knowledgable and know how to get through to their readers and appeal to them especially the writers Alveena Salim and Sajid Iqbal.

I was wondering if they post on the forums, i think they have so much to offer. I have gone through past topics in the forums and I have gained so much knowledge alhumdulillah but what i have noticed is that more recently this forum has become less about Islam and more about worldly topics and very few members reply to questions in regards to Islam whereas other members have the time to respond many times to other topics, in past topics I have noticed that if a certain topic or issue was raised, the members would respond offering their opinions backed up by Islamic reference and sources and I think that's great since we need to be able to incorporate Islam in our day to day activities.

I am not having a go, I know i just recently joined and you might be thinking that who am I to say anything, but I just feel that in the past, the revival forums had a really good thing going on, it was a very effective method of daawah and I think both new and old members need to try to get the forums back on track as there will be many people who will gain so much from the forums and Inshallah we all will get Ajar and reward from Allah (swt).

Yeah, alot of us do use the general board, except for Beast. Don't see him in these neck of the woods too often.

The reason most folk don't answer those questions is that they can't be bothered. Typically it takes me 20-45 minutes to type a longish answer and thats a big investment of effort. So I don't do it unless I think, there is a definate need to do it (or I'm supposed to be doing project work :D) I think other people think the same way except for Ya'qub, but he's young and foolish and thinks he can change the world.

I might get where you're coming from but we need to deal with "worldly" things too. We have to keep some of our thoughts in the here and now.

Lol. He may not be able to change the world but every little helps, for instance he replied to my post regarding Hajj and told me it's recommended to fast on the day of Hajj-which is something I didn't know and Inshallah will implement and I went on to tell my mum about it who didnt know that either and i'm sure she'll recommend it to others and so on and so forth and Inshallah he will get rewards for each person this bit of information will be passed onto and trust me it will be worth the effort and time he had taken to reply.

No i fully understand what you're saying, living in this world we can't not focus on worldly issues, my point was alhumdulillah many members are very knowledgable and for them to share this knowledge to others would benefit others aswell as themselves immensely.

umm, i'm Gujurati, and the gujurat we know is in India, it is a district with lots of villages in it. All the people who live there are Gujuratis, and speak Gujurati, okay?

I made the assumption it was because its 1 hour away from me and 2 hours away from Islamabad. I initally thought i lived in Mirpur (hence the assumption) but after some research i found that i dont, i actually live in Dudyaal (which i thought was a town near me). But i thought Dudyaal is in Mirpur or is it in Azad Kashmir? :? (you probs know better than the rest of us)

Anyway Gujar Khan is in the Rawalpindi District and yeah your right its near Jhelum.

D. was right there are some Gujjars that live in Gujar Khan. Anything with Gujjar in the name of the village will have Gujjars residing there.

If you ask me, it's more like 14-20. It SHOULD be for older, but we tend to shy away from more adult things.
