I dont think someone actually said it at the wedding. I think she was referring to the lyrics from a song. Most indian music has these lyrics as they have a tendency to sing about women a lot.

Well this morning's newspapers will have been printed before 8am (when the machine was switched on), and they probably would have felt a bit silly printing it and then the world really did come to an end.

Then again, if that happened, nobody would be able to read the newspapers, so they might as well have taken the chance.

well it was only this century when scientists realised that the plum pudding model of the atom was false it was only due to alpha radiation hitting gold that they realise otherwise and the discovery which you talk about couldnt be apparent because it is only recently that scientists have fiqured out the most accurate model of the atom so i dont think its that hard to believe that it that long.
