Parents

Comments

Some parents are really cool and do LOADS for their kids.

Some are just too over-protective (which imo just harms the childs development) which is not cool.

But the WORSE are the ones that dont give a fudge what their kids do. Those kids usually go flying off the rails.

Its one thing to mess up your own life, its another to mess up your kids too.

So it's fair to say that as with everything else on this planet, there's good parents and bad parents.

So the question is:

How do I, as a young muslim, decide which ones I've been blessed / cursed with?

not quite, whats the point of that question. the question is: how do I honour my parents and fulfill their right the best I can.

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

It was said that some parents DO give a damn and some DON'T.

That lead me to the question: "how do I decide which ones I have?"

Should I think they are looking out for me? But what if by the time I get to 30 I realise that that's not the case and they were in fact using and abusing me?

The other extreme is rebelling so they can't use and abuse you, but then what if you get to 30 and realise you were the one in the wrong.

This leads me to the question: "how do I strike a balance? How do I know which type of parents I have"
