What I learned 16/8/2012

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (salallahu allahi wasalm) said -

When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three:
A continuous charity,
Knowledge by which people derive benefit,
A pious child who prays for him

The first and third may not be possible for all of us (some dont have money to give as charity, others don't have a son) But we can ALL learn a thing or two and pass on the knowledge.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

Still, I dont see anything wrong with encouragement to be religious.

At the end of the day it will mean more than other achievements, and something that can be taken into the grave, which you cant do with wealth.

I agree with you.

There are two approaches to how you see these kind of statements in my view.

There are some who look at what is written in this blog and think: 'Masha'allah, Alhamdu'lillah, sounds perfect'. And then there are those that think: 'Right'

it's really about how you view your religion. There are some that cannot see anything that isn't Islam. Yet they are very good in the sense that they accept others for who they are but when it comes to themselves, it is ONLY Islam. I wish I was like that.

Then there are those who are not sure where they fit. They seem to scorn and think, why are Muslims so special or why does this sentence which really applies to everyone just about Muslims. Maybe what I am saying here doesn't make sense as I am actually struggling to say what I am thinking about in my head.

having kids who pray for you is an EXTRA. you dont need kids praying for you to go jannah *roll*

its not abt selfishness, you need to get this into your heads. muslims dont do stuff selfishly. we do it to worship Allah coz He's worth it and much more. jannah is just a reward at the end of the day.

for beginniners muslim, jannah might be the drive, but as they delve deeper into islam and learn abt Allah, Jannah just becomes something on the side. its all about Allah. abt getting to see Him after having worshipped Him all your life.

you want your kids to be in jannah with you, so you bring them up islamicalyl (coz thats what life is about) and it just so happens that because they are GOOD kids, they will pray for you. you cant force your kids to pray for you, thats something THEY will do in their own time. if THEY feel you are worth praying for.

it really annoys me when you try to pass off religious muslims as selfish beings. and religious actions as being driven only by the want to have it easy in Jannah. maybe thats all you know abt Islam, but thats not how it is.
