I don’t think anyone has ever crossed the line as much that that guy did….I can overlook a LOT of things….but making such extremely shameful, crude, dirty comments to ANY Muslim girl is unforgivable.

Its upsetting and NO girl should put up with it…especially in an Islamic forum.

And the slow response in dealing with what was said to my sister was more then enough to put her off posting….and so was the fact that he was initially backed up ….

I feel very passionate about the Revival and spend a lot of my time defending it-the forum and the magazine….this guy my family knows was dissing the magazine to me…I had such a strong urge to grab the magazine and bash him hard on his head with it…..any insult to “the Revival” is like an insult to me…and so does my sister… she is the “mascot” after all…..but sometimes you think, what’s the point?

So after that day even I decided never to post again…I mean, if the con’s of being here far out weigh the cons…then what’s the point? A girl has her self-respect and dignity to think about.

But I took a sneak peak today…Dave, you truly are a diamond. I have nothing but praise and respect for you… And so are you Aasiya, Angel, and Seraph…Irfan I rate how vigilant you are …and Admin thank you for taking action.

And regarding this strike thing…maybe I’m being sexist here but I feel that dirty comments to Muslim girls should NOT be tolerated at all…the entire post should be deleted and repeated offenders must be banned ASAP. And I ask ALL Mods to be on guard at all times when a guy tries to defame a girl…and take action ASAP.

I don’t know if my sister will post again. She’s a lot more hot headed then me…if it took me two days to reconsider…it might take her two weeks or maybe not.

This is a lively forum….sometimes people agree, sometimes they don’t…sometimes people get personal…but guys please don’t ever defame a Muslim girl or allow anyone else to either…this is an extremely serious thing.

We’re SO fortunate that there is no shameless, loose girl in this forum…and as far as I can remember there never has been. If anything, every girl has her barrier up….as seen in the common “anti men” theme that runs here. I love and have extreme respect of every girl here….So people PLEASE respect that about the girls here and look after them/take action when anyone tries to defame them.

i totally agree.

I totally agree with Muslim Sister - there should be one time offenses and that level of disgusting behavior should be it.

I think we all realizes that mods (at the time) couldn't ban - but they could have just deleted everything he said and informed us that he would be banned once Admin got on. It wasn't the stuff he was saying that angered us since we're used to raving lunatics, but the fact that so many people at first were blubbering around trying to [i]understand[/i] ziggy, or feel his pain or some Dr. Phil joygasm nonsense like that.

A simple message from the mods that ziggy would be banned at the soonest possible moment really would have done alot - though not everything - to alleviate the situation.

I'm sure MuslimSister and lilsis can understand when actual coding or programming constraints leads to difficulty in banning at first - it was the lack of interest to do anything about it at first that angered all of us.

Fortunately the forum has it's own mechanism - it's called a feeding frenzy and it works beautifully when we need it to.

Just for the record,

Initially I backed up the geeza cos I wasnt aware of the bad comments he made.

I found out about those comments and withdraw my support.
