Yea I always kinda wondered if context played a part - because there are artists like Sami Yusuf, that are real popular in the muslim world and also talented artists.

I have done.

I was informed that there is nothing wrong with a dab. As long as you don't over do it and people can not smell it on you as you walk past.

A guy can not smell a "dab" on a girls scarf unless he gets really close to her, which he shouldnt be anyway.

If all scents were totally forbidden, outside at all time for women then the use of deodrant would not be allowed either.

But maybe a difference of opinion exists.

im not sure i get the rules on scholars here..

say for example a scholar clearly does wrong, and the facts are available.. i.e. turns a blind eye at Muslims being killed.. or even advocates an act that will result in thosands of deaths of Muslim bretheren,..

can we not ask why? without being insulted?

thats the thing - there is a difference between raising concerns about certain scholars, and insulting them. most of us are polite enough to not offend eachother, Med overstepped this line (way too many times).

Hmmm... this is no damn good.

I have been trying to get the whole crew back together - latifah and shabs and hopefully sometime soon afro, before I take a permanent stage left.

But it seems like people are leaving left right center and forward these days, 100man also left btw.

Are we just delaying the inevitable? We seem to be quite irritable to each other and we all have so much work to do.

It gets deleted because he is onyl creating it to cause offence. We have discussed the topic previously where he had to change his mind on a few topics... was pwned....and said mawlid was allowed etc...

We can always ask why, but not just to cause insult. He pretends to be a student of islam, but his arrogance is overwhelming him.

Today, a valuable member has left because of the persistant insults to her scholar.

There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with a scholar. However, persistant insults and accusations can not be tolerated.

btw dave people arent leaving because of their commitments to work or life in general (except Admin whose life had become this place :P) they all left because of insults from other (mostly new) members.

He was disappointed. The Hamas thread hit certain members a little closer to home than others.

I wish him the best.

It occurs to me Admin that the reason we banned guests was so that you could have greater control over the posts, perhaps we need a more stringent and consistent policy against people who are just here to provoke us so that we can fully capitalize on that ability.

Restraint is important though... unpopularity is not the same thing as provocation.

lol and Dust as for us oldies - the problem is we are oldies, I know I don't intend to be posting next year... Commitments requiring my full attention make that impossible. Many the rest of yall will be graduating this year and attending to your own affairs and whether you like it or not will drift away from these forums. So we are going to have to be a little more flexible with newbies - there must be people behind to keep the place going.

Not to mention our views cannot be the "official views of the Revival"
