Its really sad that you couldn't cry in The Haram, but its really beautiful that you could cry for human dignity, even it was a story. I won't go all perenial but the idea that something beautiful in the human condition moved your heart to tears means there's softness in your heart.

Practise crying, maybe next time you'll cool the people of The Hajj with your tears!

My harsh dad sobbed a lot when he first saw the Kabah (and this was his 5/6 visit) wheras I was so hot, jetlagged and ill that I just wanted the Umrah to end ASAP so that we could get back to the hotel. Astagfirullah. :?

However, afterwards...when I became overwhelmed by the magnificance of Kabah and/or when my personal duas became intense or when I felt insignificant and unworthy in the Court of Allah - I became very emotional.

IMO tears have a lot to do with ones personal character. I'm very sensitive with an incredibly soft hard. So its easy for me to cry often. Yet, IMO my mum is one of the most pious people I know - yet I dont think I've ever seen her cry - for any reason.

I watched a programme about honour killing last night – it was a disturbing programme.

Although, one part made me laugh out loud. A policewoman was making fun of an alibi that a mother had given her – the mum had told her that her sons (who were involved in the crime) were sleeping with her the whole time.

The policewoman said “What 17year boys still sleep with their mum – does she really expect us to believe that”

Unsurprisingly, the mum who was covering up for her sons didn’t see what was wrong with her explanation.

I also, just read a supposed “unacceptable” issue in the papers, where research has revealed that parents are still financially helping out their children – even when they’re into their 40’s and 50’s.

Its always interesting how some things that totally unacceptable in some cultures, whilst totally normal behaviour in another.

You are disturbed by "beliefs" of an [b]individual[/b] and also by the "beliefs" of a whole [b]community[/b]?

By the way, your last statement contradicts the first two.

If the person is comitting a crime and community is with hi, then it cant be a non-issue which is "brushed under the carpet".

As you clearly point out, the entire community know about it and glorifies it.

I tried pretending that they were just stuffed animals. That worked for
a while, that is until they began to decompose. It started to smell real
bad.

I had to pee but there was a dead monkey in the toilet and I didn't want
to call the plumber. I was embarrassed.

I tried to slow down the decomposition by freezing them. Unfortunately
there was only enough room for two monkeys at a time so I had to change
them every 30 seconds. I also had to eat all the food in the freezer so
it didn't all go bad.

I tried burning them. Little did I know my bed was flammable. I had to
extinguish the fire.

Then I had one dead, wet monkey in my toilet, two dead, frozen monkeys in
my freezer, and 197 dead, charred monkeys in a pile on my bed. The odor
wasn't improving.

I became agitated at my inability to dispose of my monkeys and to use the
bathroom. I severely beat one of my monkeys. I felt better.

I tried throwing them way but the garbage man said that the city wasn't
allowed to dispose of charred primates. I told him that I had a wet
one. He couldn't take that one either. I didn't bother asking about the
frozen ones.

I finally arrived at a solution. I gave them out as Christmas gifts. My
friends didn't know quite what to say. They pretended that they like
them but I could tell they were lying. Ingrates. So I punched them in
the genitals.
