NO TOPIC
Well This is the new No Topic Topic. 😛
For those who do not know, this place is to talk about nothing. Nada. Zilch. And everything else which according to you does not deserve it's own topic.
The other one was getting a bit long, and was just full of bickering now.
So we have a new start.
The bickering in the Old no topic should not be carried over to here.
EDIT - go to NO TOPIC the Third.

Admin on a serious note when are you actually going to change the colours of the site?
The green blue and grey thing which you have got going seriously doesn't go. It all needs up dating.
Fresh bright colours need injecting onto this forum. It will inject some life into this place for sure!
I am more then willingly to help with the colours. 😃

Changing colours is easy. Find me the colours. preferrably in hex or rgb code.
"red" does not mean anything. there are about eleventy gazillion shades of red. I wanted more "orange" and I ended up with that pink thing behind the magazine bar near the bottom of the page.
about the colours - apart from the top bar (where I have already said the red hint was accidental), the rest does pretty much fit. I like the slightly non conformist style. We have rounded corners, but not all of them. We have colours, but not everywhere. Unique IMO.

My personal fav
Thief
Ideal for: the nimble fingered
Job specifications: Some would call it thievery, but you prefer the much more politically correct term of “profit sharing.” Your basic day involves wandering crowded streets, looking for distracted citizens, while evading the occasional police officer. Find a partner, and your work may be easier: while he makes a commotion, you take the money and run.
Drawbacks: While the money’s easy, and the hours are short, you could spend the rest of your sorry life behind bars. It’s still a lot better than if you happen to be working in the Middle East, where authorities prefer the swifter punishment of cutting of your hand. Joining a syndicate may offer you some form of protection, but you’ll likely be beaten at the end of the day if you don’t meet your quota.
Perks: You’re not stuck behind a desk, and the hours are your own. Being part of the underground economy you don’t even have to declare taxes. (Although some would argue that tax collectors are simply a more subtly disguised form of theft.)
The title in the thread - 'bloody scarf' reminded me of an incident that took place not very long from East London...where, a lady had terrible accident and was stuck in her car...the ambulance people who were trying to get her out asked her "where you bleeding from" and she said "Romford" (a chavy place from East London).
"Bloody" and "Bleeding" are phrases that I'm forever trying to get my kids to stop saying - my classroom sometimes reminds me of an east end market place.

Took me a second reading to get that that. Old age ans sinility.

"Where are you from?" when said by a chav comes out as "Where are you bleeding from?"
But when someone genuinely asks where you are bleeding from a chav can get confused.
BTW I don't like saying chav.

Chav talk.
It means the same as 'bloody' - you need to drop the 'g' to say it right.

Now, that is a cop out!
I know what colours are, and knowing the shade, I can find the code for it. give me a colour scheme.
We currently use (I think) 8 different colours for backgrounds. After that there are the titles, headings, content (5 different colours - one shared with a background colour atm though. I am not including the colours used in the cloud). Then there is the top title/nav bar. I am using two different gradients (one for background, one for logo. I will like to keep the orange logo gradient.))
so that is a group of around 12-15 different colours that play and do not cause eye strain. Not an easy job. I do not envy your task.

Quite a complex task.

not at all. u'll only call a person a chav if he/she talks like one and dresses like one. u wouldn't call the average white person who speaks the queens english a chav now wud ya?
i get called a chav all the time by my family :?

Not to make too big a deal out of this (this is getting too much for my PC disposition) but:
there are black people and there are niggers
there are Pakistanis and there are Pakis
there are white people and there are chavs.

chavs are not only white.
although I agree it is a stereotype, it is not a racially-stimulated one. it is classist. 'chavs' are part of the working-class or under-class. they prob claim benefits, live on an estate, buy jewellery from argos, tuck their trousers into their socks, drink stella artois (which is nicknamed 'wife-beater') etc. in the south they are probably from essex or kent.
the word 'chav' is short for charlie, in the same way gaz is short for gary and baz is short for charlie.
before someone coined the word 'chav', we called them 'gary's', 'punters' or 'cobbler-jobblers' (i don't know where the last expression comes from or what it means!)
townies are a different entity altogether.
and thats the end of that chapter

If you want to sort out/get some help with the colours, maybe get a girl on board 8) :D
ditto :D
So that's two. chop chop.
@beast - both those look crowded. I needs some work, but i will try to lift some ideas. I think they have less obvious "white space" (as in not white, but empty separating, boxing spaces) - mainly because it is the same colour as the background while we have a different shade for it. Our white space is grey.
A few of the things I like about those cannot be implemented easily in the current incarnation. (the from the forums links are in an iframe, and that causes issues, but it was the easiest way to get the functionality.)
Once we get the affiliates bit up and running, that should also help as it would expect it to have a lot of colour.
